Yikes! I have been running behind since November. The holiday season has a way of catching me off guard. It always has and I do not see that changing in the years to come. :) But I digress. This year I decided to challenge myself by documenting each day in December. I chose the Hello December kit from Stampin'UP! I made 26 pages not 31. I consider this as a success because I had so much fun capturing most of our taditions. I am sharing 11 of the pages that I made. I hope you enjoy looking at them. :)
First Day: We always put our wreaths out on the doors first. The title words Hello, Dec., & traditions are dies all from Taylored Expressions All other product used are from Stampin'UP! I used a Project Life Design 4 page. I cut it in half and made my Hello December Traditions page. The First day page I used a Stampin UP! pocket page. If you want to see any of the pages larger just double click on them.
I made the star by using star punches and Hello Honey cardstock from Stampin'UP! The medium sized star is made of cork and is made by American Crafts. I used the octagon punch to make octagons that I put beneath the cork 3D page numbers. Day 2: I focused on typing up and printing out the address and return address labels for the Christmas cards I would be sending. Day 3: I began putting out some of our Christmas decorations.
Day 4 & Day 5 were gift shopping days and time for a Dunkin'donuts coffee splurge.
The number 5 is from Heidi Swapp I purchased them at Michaels. Loved using these numbers throughout my book.
Day 6: Wayne put up our kitchen swag . I made another half page by cutting a 6x8 design 4 pocket page, Dec. die from Taylored Expressions. Day 7: Stampin"UP! tree punch and a tiny wood star. It was great fun working with the wood elements.
Day 8: Wayne put the tree up before he went to work. I decorated it. :) The number 8 is from Heidi Swapp. After slipping it into a 3x4 pocket I added colorful sequins from the Hello December kit. I used washi tape to seal up the pocket. Day 9: Our Christmas cards arrived. I put one of the cards into a 5x7 protector and added it to my book.
Day 14: A large box with lots of gifts arrive from Amazon. I put a green sequin inside of a tiny wooden star and glued the both of them to the page.
Day 15: This was the day that I made snowman Soup to give as gifts. Chunky white "15" and colorful sequins. This time I glued many of them onto the numbers. Once again I cut a design 4 pocket page in half. On the opposite page I used a 6x8 page protector to hold my photo.
Day 16: Organizing and getting ready to wrap the gifts. I added the little black and white star epoxy embellishment to this page because I felt it needed a little something. :)
Day 19: I did not do anything this day that had anything to do with Christams except to take a couple of photos that were Christmas related. I used a 4x6 white star cut out card that is from the Color Magic kit from Becky Higgins. All other cards and embellishments are from Stampin'UP!
Day 24: Wayne and I always begin opening our gifts on Christmas Eve but by the time we are finished it is Christmas morning. The Opposite page is of Wayne and I around the tree oppening our gifts . Not shown because we are in our pajama. Ha-ha.
Day 25: Christmas Day! My journaling for this day was not done at the time that I took the photos. We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas day with my son.
I tried to keep my words to a minimum when describing each of the 11 days. Maybe a little to short? I appreciate your taking the time to visit me. Although Christmas has come and gone I would love to hear how the season and the day was for you and your family. Have you ever made a book dedicated to December? If so I would love to read about your experience. I truly had a fantastic time making a book for Wayne and I. Happy New year (late I know) , let's hope that 2015 is a healthy and happy Year. Now I'm off to work on my 2015 Project Life books.
Stay safe & Smile BIG! :)
