About a month ago I came across a DYI lighting project. I loved what I saw and knew that I could make something similar. I made tea light holders using glass light covers! It wasn't until I was editing my photos that I realized I had only taken photos of the fisnished product. But the project is soooo simple that just looking at my photos will speak for themselves. I will also be writing down what I used, where I bought the products and what I did to make my light holders.
Here is what I used:
Glass light covers. I purchased them at Loews and paid about 5.00 for each of them.
I used mini rocks and battery operated tea lights purchased from Michaels.
I all ready had the small tea light holders at home. They can be purchased at Michaels, Target, Walmart or Kmart. I decided to decorate my glass lights using brown and white bakers twine and wooden buttons purchased from The M.A.D Stamper Etsy shop. If you have never visited Monika's Etsy shop then check it out, you will not be dissapointed.
1. wrap twine around the glass light cover. Thread Twine through buttons and glue the other 2 buttons onto the twine. 3.Pour the stones inside and add the tea lilghts.
Here is a photo that I took of the lights in the early evening hours so that you can see how they look lit up. Wayne and I have a big canopy that we set up in early July. I made these to go inside of the canopy so that we would have a little more light while sitting out at night. You can use regular tea lights if you like. Because I have Asthma I prefer to use the battery operated lights. :)
And lastly, Here is a photo that Wayne took of me taking a photo of the lights in the early evening. He got a big kick out of how I was dressed and thought it would be a hoot to share it with you.
I had just gotten out of the shower and saw the light that I wanted to use. I pulled up my hair with a clip, threw on pj bottoms and top (mis matched) and inside out. I would not normally share this but Wayne wanted people to see what a fanatic I am about taking my photos. And he thought it was funny. So there you have it. :) I hope that you enjoyed my DYI post. If you have any questions please feel free to ask away. Stay safe, stay cool and Smile. :)
