Much Accomplished..... But Still So Much More To Do

 

Wordless Wednesday But With Words

 

I hope that you had a wonderful 3 day weekend. We were fortunate enough to have great weather. Memorial day is when Wayne and I bring out the summer furniture, plant flowers and any thing else that needs to be done to get ready for the summer. However,  Wayne does at least 95% of the work now. I'm afraid that I am not much help to him any more. But I  am a great cheerleader and I do make sure that he stays hydrated and has food to eat. :)

I love that I was able to take photos of him without him knowing I was doing so. My favorite thing to do is capturing people when they have no idea that they are being photographed.

 I took a few photos of Wayne while he was working down at the brook I hope you enjoy looking at them. 

 

  

Wayne worked very hard on his 4 day weekend. He painted the front of the house, as well as making sure that all of the trim on the house was done too. He trimmed our bushes, planted the majority of our flowers and cleaned up some of our brook. 

 Believe it or not we do have 5 children. But when there is work to be done no one is around to help us. Not sure why. Most of the time it does not bother me but this year..................I'm not very pleased about it.  Oh well what can you do right?

This is my favorite photo of Wayne. He took a much needed break. I have no idea what he was thinking about but I can guess. Later that day he said something to me that was bittersweet. Getting older is not all that it is cracked up to be. But it can be an adventure for sure. Ha-ha. All in all we had a wonderful 4 days together.

Refurbish & Reuse DIT Project

I have never worked with something that was broken and could be made into something new.  This was a lot of fun not just for me but for Wayne as well. When Wayne told me 2 weeks ago that his hose cart no longer worked and he would have to buy a new one, I yelled "what ever you do please do not throw that away." I knew immediately what I wanted to do with the 9 year old broken hose cart. Wayne does not like throwing things away because he feels that he can always use the "parts" for something else. Most of the time that works out for him and other times not so much. Wayne has screws and cords that must be at least 15 years old still sitting in boxes that have never been used. But I digress. Here is what we made using his broken hose cart.

 

 1. Wayne takes a moment from sanding to smile for the camera. I did some sanding but quickly realized that Wayne would be much better and faster at it. 2. The cart is all sanded and ready for painting.

3. Me spray painting the top side of the cart. And yes.....I m wearing big goggles over my glasses. :) What a geek right? 4. Both the cart and a wooden box are drying so that I can finish painting them. While these are drying the green metal basket was painted white. Once everY thing was dried Wayne put it all back together. 


Here is my new cart that I will be using to move small items around (gardening tools ETC.) as well as a plant cart.  The paint colors that I used are: Celery,Gumball and white. I am fairly certain that all 3 spray paints are from Krylon. A simple idea, not a lot of work and a few products and Wayne and I have made something new from something old. Sweet Baby Faces

Who doesn't love the sweet and funny faces that a baby makes? I am in awe of all of the faces that baby Grace makes. Between Wayne and I we have managed to capture many of her darling little expressions. I knew that I would be making many pages of this precious little child and  now I have another one to share with you. :)

Here is one of my favorite photos of Grace that was taken on the same day that the photos of her on the page were taken. She was very curious about the black thing that was constantly pointing at her and making clicking noises. Up until that moment she was far too busy smiling and trying very hard to tell me a story. What a face! I love that little face!
