A huge hello to those of you who are stopping by to see me. It certainly was strange being away from my blog for 2 weeks. I thought that I would have a short vacation while I was away but the truth is I worked hard just about every day. Wayne and I had lots of things going on with family so I had lots of cleaning to do and shopping for all of the things that we needed. I am tired so I am going to try and keep my post as short as possible. :)
I was able to participate in this weeks PPA108-CAS-Elements of Style-Soften the Edges. I just made my card today so it was a race againt time.
Here is my card.
Stamps: Established Elegance, Artistic Etchings and Petite Pairs. Inks: Soft Suede . Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Early Esspresso. DP: Beau Chateau. Accessories: Very Vanilaa Satin Ribbon and a stick pin. All items listed are from Stampin' UP! unless other wise stated.
This week I am hosting the sketch challenge at Soul Scrappers. It is a simple sketch. If you scrap or do digi pages I would love to have you join in. Please check out the sketch if you have time.
Here is my page.
Wayne took these photos of me and 4 of our granddaughters on August 21,2011 right before our Family BBQ started. If you like the title that I made for my page feel free to download it for your personal use for free at the bottom of my post.
I have been very busy taking lots and lots of photographs. Not a lot of time to edit them so this week I am sharing two photos that I took at least 3-4 weeks ago. One day I will catch up. :)
I took this photo when I last visited my Physical therapist. She has a beautiful garden full of sunflowers.
Here is a photo that I took of Wayne the last time we were at Shaker Village in Late July 2011. It was a gorgeous day.
The past 2 weeks have been crazy! We experienced a small tornado that sheared aprox. 100 trees and brought down a house. Fortunately no one was hurt. Two days later the quake that started in VA traveled straight through to NH. Nothing happened. All that was felt was a shake and some people saw some swaying. Next up was the hurricane. Fortunately by the time it got to NH it was downgraded to a tropical storm. We did have rain all morning and all day today(Sunday). The wind was only about 45 MPH where I live but it was steady. My brook looks like a huge pond and it did hit our land line and spilled over some on a part of our land. As I write this we are having winds again and there are 150,000 homes without electricity. Wayne and I have been very lucky because we have had no damage to our home. The major damage was done in Northern NH. It has been so crazy here weather wise. Our family BBQ was on August 21. It started out to be a lovely day but within 2 hours we had a huge thunderstorm and major rain fall. We all went into the garage to eat. Thankfully it lasted only an our. It is the first time that we had a storm during our family BBQ so I can't complain about that. :) That is just a little bit of what my last 2 weeks consisted of. I have been very busy for sure.
I sure hope that all of you have been safe and that your weather has not been too harsh. I for one am looking forward to the fall and hoping that we have a beautiful one this year. Thank you for stopping by to visit with me. I really appreciate the time you take to stop by to see what I have been up to.

Nice card TFS Glad you are back, have missed you. It sure has felt like fall already here but suppose to warm up this week. The hummingbirds are having an eating frenzy, sure hope that isn't a sign of them leaving all ready. Have a good week. Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne

I really like the dress form stamp on the card...gives it a vintage feel and reminds me of my mother. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many of my clothes as well as my daughter as she was growing up. The photos are great and the digi page of your granddaughters is lovely. So glad you are back and thankful that you had no damage during the horrible weather that struck the East Coast. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
