Hello and happy 4th of July to you. It seems like it was just a couple of months ago when I was writing about the cold and the snow. My goodness the time is flying right by us.
I have a card to share with you this week as well as a few other things. I hope you enjoy your visit with me. First up is the card that I made for PPA100-What's Your Technique? I'm not so sure that what I did would be considered a technique and if it is I have no idea what it would be called. Ha-ha. But I had so much fun making this gift card for Colleen. She is having her house warming party next weekend. The card is 4 1/4 X by 4 1/4.
Here is my card.
I love using punches and dies, not sure if that is considered a technique but it is one of my favorite ways to make cards. I did use the stamping off technique. So this is the card that I came up with for the challenge.
Here is what I used to make my card.
Stamps: Four Frames (new) and the En Francais background stamp. Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze,So Saffron and Early Espresso. Inks: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze. Punches & Dies: Decorative Label, flower punch (retired), Beautiful Wings Embosslits and Scallop circle die. Accessories: Textured Square lattice Embossing folder, Victoria Chrochet Trim, designer buttons and Basic Pearls. all items listed are from Stampin'UP!
For those of you who like digital scrapping I made my page using a fun nd easy challenge at Soul Scrappers. I used the Stampin'UP! MDS program to make mt page but I used PSE to make my title.
Here is my page.
I made a page using the newest photos that I have of Alexis. She truly is a girly girl. I felt the colors and DP, went very well with the photos that I took of her. It was a fun and happy page for me to make. I hope to make a swatch book of our visit together.
If you like the title that I made for my page and would like to use it for your personal pages please download them for free at 4Shared - Color and 4Shared Black.
Wayne and I went to Shaker Village yesterday. It was a beautiful 80 degree summer day. There were not very many people visiting due the the July 4th weekend. But that made it even more of a peaceful day. Of course we took our cameras and took lots of photos. No big surprise there right? :) I have only 4 to share with you. Between the two of us we took over 700 photos. It would take too long to for you to view them all. And you might get bored too. :)
This is a photo that I took inside of the Sister's Shop. They had a sewing room, a music room and another room with sewing items. The upstairs in this house is not open to the public. At the village they are slowly doing renovations to the homes, shops etc... Every year that I return to visit, another house is or part of a house is opened. I love this room!
Here is a photo I took of Wayne near a big old tree at the village. I'm not sure why it looks a tad fuzzy but if you click on the phototo make it larger it will come out clear. Same with the one of me. :)
And lastly, a photo of Wayne and I together.
Today our oldest granddaughter and her friend will be coming over for a BBQ. We are looking forward to spending time with her. We might go to the fireworks tonight but not sure yet. I hope that all of you have a wonderful 4th of July. Stay safe, stay cool and Smile. :)
