Happy Easter Sunday!

 This week I have a card, a page and a couple of photos to share with you. I hope you enjoy your visit with me today. :)

 My card was made by using the PPA90-A Sketch Challenge. A very simple and fun challenge to do.

Here is what I used.

Stamp Sets: The Open Sea (in the SU summer mini), Tiny Tags (sentiment). Card-stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Not Quite Navy. Inks:Early Espresso and Soft Suede. I used the new Nautical Expedition DP that is in the SU summer mini. It is beautiful! I used a very Vanilla satin ribbon and a mini Library clip.  A very quick and easy card to make. All products are from Stampin'UP!  

This week I also made a digital scrap page using a few photos from Caleb's birthday party. I used a challenge from Soul Scrappers.

I have a few photos to share with you today. I used my point and shoot this week due to the type of weather that we had and because I was very busy this week. Yes, too busy to lug my bigger camera around with me. It is heavy! Well, heavy for me. :)

First up is a photo I took of what our gas prices were up to as of Thursday, 4-22-2011.

 

I know that many of you have higher gas prices then we do. I'm sure that we will catch up with you soon. I took this photo at around 7:30 pm.

Wayne took me to Portsmouth  this week. I had  a dentist appointment and driving there and back is a good hike for me and I *hate*driving out of my comfort zone. After my appointment Wayne wanted to go to Duston's bakery in Dover. Not too far from my dentist but further away from where I live. So I decided to bring in my little camera and take a photo of some of the bakery goodies. Oh my I was drooling! I wanted  every thing. Of course I am not suppose to eat any of this very yummy looking stuff so I am sure that I was driving Wayne crazy when all that came out of my mouth over and over was "oh my gosh this all looks so delicious". Ha-ha.

 

Wayne love Duston's Maple frosted filled cream donuts. They are known for these donuts and are sold out by noon time each day. Wayne scored 6of them!!! I can only imagine how many fat grams are in each one. Thankfully he only buys them once a year.

 

Here is Wayne looking happy despite the high winds we were having that day. And yes, he did eat all of them within 2 days. UGH! Again, he does this only once a year.

So that is a quick summary of what my week was like.  I have to add that yesterday  we had snow, sleet and rain all day. What a messy day it was. Today we had sunshine up until 1pm and what a joy it was to see. However, we did get a rain shower. Our whole up coming week is looking like sun, in the 60's and 50% chance of showers. I hope I can beat the rain every day and get my walk in.

A Card,A Page & A Few Photos

Since I do not have much creativity in post titles I decided to just call it like it is. : ) I hope you will enjoy what I have to share this week. I have a few extra photos that I wanted to share but then decided that it would take too long for me to get them up and too long for anyone who visits me to spend reading and looking at  them. Maybe another day. :)I particiated in the PPA89 – Fashion Inspiration - Flowers--and Blog Candy challenge.  Those of you who visit my blog know that I like doing the challenges at PPA.

Stamps: So Happy For You. Card-stock:Very Vanilla,Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Concord Crush. Ink: Concord Crush.  Dies: Top Note and Little leaves. Punch:Blossom Bouquet tripple Layer punch. It is brand new and will be for sale in the  SU Summer mini catalog. Embossing folder: Perfect Polka Dots.  Accessories: Designer buttons, Basic pearls and white bakers twine. Also new and will be available in the summer mini catalog.  All products used are from Stampin'UP!

 

Clearly I am way out of my league with this challenge. I am not a professional photographer. But I love taking photos and playing along in this challenge has helped me to pick up my camera and take some photos on days when I may not be feeling well, or when life is so busy.  So here is my photo for this week.

 

 
I took this photo of Wayne yesterday, 4-16-2011. We were on our way to do some shopping and he needed to fill up his car. I felt that this captured him doing something very simple that he does every week. I will be setting up a hair appointment for him in the morning! Funny how we can see things more clearly in a photo. :)

This past Monday, I had to get gas for my car. I decided that I wanted to keep a photo journal of the gas prices. So while I was filling up my card on Monday 4-12-2011 I took a photo of the price per gallon  that I was paying. I wish that I had started doing this a month ago .......but I didn't.

 

 

 

Yesterday I took another photo of the price per gallon that Wayne paid. In just 5 days the price had gone up 18 cents!!! I know that many of you across the states are paying more then we are for gasoline. It makes me wonder if the price will ever go down again or if it is going to keep rising on a daily or weekly basis.  Along with the hike in gas prices our retail stores have all raised their prices as well as all of  the food stores. I sure hope that things turn around very soon.

Today Wayne and I  went for a walk down to our brook. It was a sunny day with temps in the 50's. Windy but still very nice out. I took a few photos but will only share 2 of them. :)

 

Due to all of the rain that we have been getting each week and with the snow melting from the mountains our rivers are running high. So my brook looks more like a large pond. It is above the land line in a few places . Not a pretty sight to see. I could not take a photo of the brook the way that I would have liked due to the water being up on the section of land I normally stand.

 
 
Last but not least. Wayne is checking the damage to our land. I'm happy to say that not much has been done as of yet. :) Lots of debris that he will be cleaning up as soon as the rain season leaves us.

I hope that all of you have had a terrific weekend. My weekend has been busy but a good one. I got a little more accomplished then most weekends. :)

I have a card, two photos, a page and word Art to share with those of you who visit my blog. First my card.  I made my card by using the PPA 88-Celebrity Color Challenge. The challenge was to use the colors Crumb Cake-Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.

Here is what I used.

Stamps: Bring in the Cake(sentiment). Card-stock: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Dafodill Delight and Whisper White.  Inks: Pear Pizzazz.  DP: In Color Paper Patterns. Dies: Sizzlets Little Leaves and Embosslit Simple flower. I also used Brights buttons, twine and a satin Daffodil ribbon. All items are from Stampin'UP! The square dies are not from SU. I *really* like this color combination very much!

I took this photo of Aubrey and Wayne at Caleb's birthday party. Neither one of them knew that I was capturing a simple yet  very special moment between grandpa and our youngest granddaughter. It is now my favorite photo of the two of them together.

I made this page for my challenge at Soul Sisters, DC32-Digital Challenge-Color Combination. Lastly, I have a photo of me that was taken yesterday. Wayne and I went for a walk. It was the very first day of 2011 that I was able to get outdoors and walk. It has been a tough road back to my walking outdoors.

 
 
 
I was only able to walk for a mile but it was wonderful. I love walking as many of you know. I went out again today and again was able to walk for a mile. So with lots of determination I hope to be at 2 miles within a few weeks. Wayne took this photo of me. :)

The past few days we have had Sunshine and temps between 54-62 degrees. Tomorrow we may get up to 71 degrees. It has been great! The snow is almost gone so that is exciting. It's the small things in life that truly make me happy. :) What are the small things make you happy?
