Freeze A Moment

This week has been a busy one for me. However, I have a card for the PPA82- CAS-,Elements Of Style-Scallops challenge to share with you. I also have  a page that I made for my challenge DC29  at Soul Scrappers and 2 photos that were taken on Saturday. All are very simple but that's my style. :) I hope you have fun looking at what I have been up to this week.

Here is my card.

 

Here is what I used.

Stamp Sets: Bold Blossom and Teeny Tiny Wishes. Inks:Pear Pizzazz,and Early Espresso. Card-Stock:Whisper White,Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. Dp is Sunny Garden. The punches that I used are the oval large and the Scallop oval extra-large. The scalloped rectangle was made using a scallop die. I also used Brights buttons,  a Peach Parfait ribbon and bakers twine. With the exception of the scalloped rectangle and the bakers twine all products are fromStampin'UP! I loved using these bright and cheerful colors together.

The next challenge is  the DC29-Digital challenge. I am the one hosting it and I would love it if you could join me.  The design on this page was kept simple because I wanted the focus t be on my photo and my journaling.

 In the past 3 days we have gotten 20 inches of snow. Poor Wayne had to snowblow our driveway and shovel off our steps 3 consecutive days. I hope that we will not be having any more snow this coming week. Like so many people I can hardly wait for spring. Hhopefully it will bring lots of sunshine an some drier days. Yesterday after Wayne cleared the driveway once again and the sun came out for a bit we decided to go out and do a little shopping. It felt so good to get out. But first Wayne took a photo of me standing by the snow and I took one of him. It was a bit cold but still so nice to get outdoors.

Here I am :)I played with the colors in this photo because the colors were too dark.  I used a couple of presets that are made for PSE. I like the look, it's differnt.

It Must Be Sunday!

It is Sunday and I have a few things to  share with you. But first......I hope that those of you who drop by my blog to check it out have had a wonderful week.  And that it has not been to cold or stormy where ever you live. Isn't it comforting to know that spring is on the way? Just 28 more days to go. Hooray! :)

Okay, I'm going to just jump right in and show you what I have done this week. First I have a card that I made for the  PPA81 – Sketch Challenge . I love participating in the sketch challenges.

 Here is what I used.

Stamp sets: Silhouette Sentiments (image), Elements of Style (image), and Create A Cupcake ( sentiment). Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Olive Green and Early Espresso. Inks: Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I used DP from the Botanical Gazzette series. I *love* this paper.  I used a n Early Espresso button and a Cherry Cobbler ribbon. I used circular dies and twine both of these items are not from SU. I used the stamping off technique for the background behind the bird image.

 

 

 

 

Here is my photo for The Simple Things challenge. I chose to take a photo of my  brushes this week. They are my go to brushes any time I want to dirty up a background or make my card look distressed or vintage.

I chopped a little bit off of my page by making it larger but I wanted it to be easier to read my journaling if you wanted to. Besides, I did not have anything important on the right side so I was able to chop it off. :)  The challenge is What is your style and as you can see mine is a T-shirt ,a pair of  jeans and Nikes. I dress casual and have been since I stopped working. It was a fun age to do and now I have another page for my children's second book about me.  Just go here if you would like to download the word art that I made. :) Wayne wanted to know why I repeated the words Forever In BlueJeans. I explained to him that I wanted my word art to have a shadow and he asked me why. I told him that I thought it looked good that way and that I wanted to try something different. Hope you like it.

 

 


I hope it is getting warmer where ever it is you live. It certainly has been a very cold winter this year and a very expensive one ! I can not believe the price of oil. Wayne and I live in a house that is not considered big and yet we are paying lots to heat our home. Yet another good reason for spring to get here. I'm sure that you did not visit my blog to hear me go on about heating prices. :) So on that note, remember to stay safe, stay warm and Smile. :) Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me.

 

Sending Springtime Smiles

 
Just a little over a month and spring will be here. I know we can still get snow and cold weather but knowing that spring is right around the corner certainly make me smile. :) 

This week I have a card that I made for the PPA 80- Those Were The Days-Vintage Theme . I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I also have a Photo for The Simple Things challenge and a scrap page that I made and can also be found at Soul Scrappers.

Here Is My Card

 
Here is what I used.

Stamp Set: Easter Blossoms. Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Early Espresso. Inks: Pretty In  pink, Early Espresso Old Olive, and Tea Stain.  I used designer paper from  Botanical Gazette. I also used a rosette, Very Vanilla satin ribbon and a stick pin using pearls and a pink crystal. All products are from Stampin' Up! except for the pink crystal. Iused the sponging technique so that my card would look distressed.

 

 

 I call this photo Valentine Tulips because Wayne bought these for me yesterday while we were out Valentine shopping. As soon as we got home I watered them and placed them on my kitchen island so that  I can see them no matter where I am in my kitchen.  I know that I am nowhere near as good a photographer as all of the women who  play in this challenge, but I like playing along because it helps me to take a photo each week.  If it were spring, summer or fall I would be taking lots and lots of photos each week but in the winter it is difficult for me to get outdoors.  And because I  prefer taking outdoors shots because of the natural light taking photos indoors truly has been a challenge for me. :) 

The page that I am sharing with you is one that I made about a month ago. I know that I have shared this photo of Wayne because this is my favorite shot of him that I took on Christmas day. I decided to make a Christmas page and this will certainly end up in a book that I will be putting together of Wayne for Wayne.

 

I used the MDS program to make my page. The paper and elements are not form Stamin'UP!

I hope that the weather has calmed down for everyone. We have had 5 consecutive days of no snow and it has been wonderful. Lots of cold weather but I think it is going to start warming up a bit this coming week. I am looking forward to walking outdoors again. With luck and some help from Mother Nature maybe the snow and ice will melt within the next few weeks. I sure have missed being outdoors.
