Got Snow?

I have been blogging once a week for at least the past month. I'm finding that once a week is good for me. Perhaps I will blog more often in the future but for now I'm liking the way that this is working out for me. Just think, one less blog to check each day. :) I have a few things to share so grab a cup of coffee or tea, relax and enjoy your visit. Well, I hope that you will enjoy visiting me. :)

I try and keep up with the weekly challenges that I like to participate in. Sometimes life gets in the way but  this week I was able do the challenges and then some. The then some I will pass on because You would be reading my blog  too long and you probably have lots to do.  I am going to try and keep this as brief as possible.

First up is a card that I made for the PPA 78- CAS- Element of Style-Bows Challenge. What a fun challenge.

Here is what I used.

Stamp Sets:Elements of Style and Filled with Love and Bella Toile Background stamp. Inks: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler. Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I added a Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon.

My next Challenge was for Soul Scrappers. We are having a Glee Club celebration in honor of Soul Scrappers celebrating their first anniversary.The challenge is to make a card for the Classic rock mini challenge CRMC#1

I took my inspiration for my above card from my card that I made for the CRMC #1 challenge. If you have time perhaps you can join us. :)

Yet one more reason for me to be grateful and happy that I married this man. We have had so many snow storms for the past few weeks. No matter how cold it has been out  or if the snow was still coming down, Wayne went out last week to snow blow our driveway and shovel off our stairs before he went off to work.  It makes me smile to know that he loves and cares enough about me to make sure that I can get out of my home if need be. This photo of Wayne makes me smile and reminds me of how very lucky I am to have him in my life. Can you see the snow coming down around him and on him? Last but not least I made a page  about Wayne in the snow for a Soul Scrappers Sketch challenge.

 

 As you can see I added the photo of Wayne that I love. I used the MDS program to make my page. I also added my very own word art to it. I have been slowly learning how to make Word Art and I'm having a blast with it.  I can not share the exact word art that  I used with the snow flakes behind it because I purchased that brush for private us only. But I can share my "Got Snow? with you. If you do not make digital pages you can still download it and put it on your photos like I do to many of the photos that I have shared with you. Please remember that it is only for your private use.

Just click 4Shared. Once yo are there the image will look all blacked out. Just ignore that. Scroll down a little and you will see download. Click on that and download the the file. It's free and although a very simple Word Art is from me to you. :) I hope you will be able to use it.

Lots more snow coming our way Tuesday-Thursday.  I sure hope that this will be our last week of getting more then one snow storm. I for one sure am tired of having to stay indoors and not being able to keep my appointments. What do you think of my blog title this week? I have tried over and over to be more creative with my blog post titles and just can't seem to come up with any thing fun. So I decided to to put just "Sunday" which is the day that I am writing my post rather then putting " A Card, A photo. A page and more photos." :) I agree not very catchy but different for me.

So here is what I have to share with you this week. A card for the  Challenge, a page that I made for an upcoming  Soul Scrappers Challenge, a photo for the Simple Things Challenge and some photos I took this week of the snow and of Wayne. I hope that something will make you smile. :)

I made my card for the PPA 77 -Sketch Challenge. I love their sketch challenges and I loved looking at all of the beautiful cards that  have been made for this challenge. There are lots of very creative stampers out there.

 Here is my card.

 

 Here is what I used:

Everything used is fromStampin"UP! excpe for the tiny heart punch. Stamps: Word Play stamp set.  Card-Stock:Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and  Rich Razzleberry. Ink:Early Espresso. The embossing folder I used is Vintage wallpaper. I used the full heart extra large punch a small punch(not su)  and a Rosette that you can find in the newest SU mini catalog. Easy peasey!

 I love taking photos of our brook . There is always something interesting about it and going on around it. Wayne and I have seen deer,  down there, have found huge turtles  even one that is considered on the endangered list in NH. I take lots of photos of wildflowers around our brook as well as dragonflies, butterflies, our children, grandchildren and so much more. It is a very peaceful place to walk to and just think or to take photos of  Wayne and myself. :) I love trying to get that one special photo of it every single season of every year. I love this one that I took with the snow. So far it is my favorite one of this winter season 2011. If you would like to see it larger then just click on the photo.  

 Tonight I am sharing a page that I made for a challenge that will start on Jan. 25 at Soul Scrappers. If you like to scrapbook I think you will love this challenge. It is easy to do and lots of fun too. :) Oh and speaking of Soul Scrappers "It's our 1 year anniversary and we're celebrating with Glee Club!" Lots of challenges, games and prizes will be given away. Check it out.

 

This is Molly, at her 8th grade gradutaion .  I used the MDS program from Stampin'UP! to make my page. It looks like more books will be made for my girls. :)

Last but not least. We have had 3snow storms this week. So I have been at home most every day. However, I did at least get outdoors long enough to take quite a few photos of  Wayne snow blowing the trees, etc..  I chose only 2 photos to share because my post is  all ready too long. I hope you like them.

 

Poor Wayne. He has had to snow blow and shovel the snow from the driveway and stairs 3 times this week.  He also had to shovel snow off of the garage roof too.

 
 
I took this photo  from my back door right after our last snowstorm. The wind was whipping so lots of snow was blowing around. It was only in the 20's  that day but at least the sun came out for a bit. I zoomed in quite a bit so that I could get my 3 favorite trees located above our brook.

2 cards, A Photo And A Page

 Hi Ladies. This week I have a few things to share with you.  I have 2 cards that I made for the PPA inspiration challenge, a photo I took last night for the Simple Things photo challenge and a scrap page that I made for a Soul Scrappers Challenge.

Here is my first card.

  

Her is what I used.

 Stamps sets:Valentine Defined and Filled with Love. Inks: Basic Black and Really Red. Card-Stock: Really Red, Whisper White and DP- Small polka Black and White small polka dot.  I printed the DP from the MDS program because I did no have any of it left. I used a whisper White stain ribbon.Photo corner punch and a small heart  punch. Every thing I used that I listed other then the small heart punch are all from Stampin'UP! 

My second card was made using the MDS program. I made this card before I made the one up above. I tried to keep them both exactly the same but as you can see there are a few differences.

 

 

To be honest with you this one is my favorite of the two. You would think that this card would have taken me less time to make but because I had no direction in which way to go it took me lots longer to make.  After my card was finished I started making the card above this one. I tried to make them both exactly the same but that did not work out for me. :)  However, both of these cards were fun to make.

Wayne likes to have breakfast for dinner once in awhile. I made him pancakes and while cooking them I decided to take a few photos of them on the grill. However, I had forgotten how fast pancakes cook and getting the right shot was hard to do. So I did my best. Those of you who follow my blog know that I really like to take photos using a low aperture. The lower the better because I love having a blurry background.  I love taking pictures of  food and of inanimate objects during the winter season. If I had children living at home I would be taking lots of photos of them................but I don't so food and other things that do not move are fun too. Oh and of course I love taking photos of Wayne. :) So this is the photo that makes me happy this week.

Last but not least here is a page that I made for the DC-27, Black and White with a splash of color challenge.

 
 
 
 
My background page is all white. The overlay that I used does not have any writing on the bottom which is why you can not tell where my page ends. Sorry about that. My photo was taken by Wayne last week when we went for a walk down to our brook in the freezing cold. A storm was on the way so I wanted to get out and breathe in some fresh air and see our brook with the snow on the banks along with some ice on each side of the brook. . Once we get too much snow I am not able to walk to the brook. I changed the photo from color to black and  white because I thought it would look better that way for the challenge. I used the MDS program for this page and everything I used is from  MDS except for the Word Art. The Freezing Word Art is from Elegant Word Art by Bethany.  The word Art "Monday" on my photo is from Glitzen Girl. As for the 20 eleven under my photo that is my very first attempt at making my very own word art. I know not much but I  had to start somewhere right? I have been making more but not ready to uses the few that I have made. I am keeping every thing simple and hope to one day be  half as good as Bethany and Glitzen girl. Well that's my goal anyway. :)

So there you have it. I hope that you enjoyed looking at  the things that I had to share this week.  

I sure hope that most of you are doing well with all of the snow that has been hitting everyone all of the states except for Florida. We had 15 inches of snow when we woke up on Thursday of this past week. More snow coming but not large amounts. It i s the cold that has been brutal this winter. But January is half over so spring will be here before we know it. I certainly do miss going for my walks.
