A Card & A Smile Box

I hope that you have been enjoying the Holiday Season. Wayne has been home from work for at least 10 days now and it sure has been very nice to have him around. I think this is the longest amount of time we have spent together in one full swoop. :)

First, I would like to share a card that I made for all of you who visit my blog. I made it using the MDS program.

 

 

Even though I had this card pretty much designed, I went and visited one of my favorite blogs, It Works For Me.  Bobbi-Jo had her card all designed, up on her blog and offering her template for free. As I said my card was almost all designed but when I saw the card that  Bobbi-Jo made I fell in love with her colors and her design. I did try and download her template but was not able to (I am not always very good at downloading) so I went back to mine and decided to just finish it up. I hope to have a new card made by Monday using a stamp set. But first things first. It is New Years Eve and I have lots of cooking and baking to do today. Then tonight Wayne and I will be watching a movie, watching the ball drop down in Times Square and eating some junk food.  That is our tradition every New years Eve.  I truly hope that what ever plans you may have for New years Eve that you will have lots of  fun and be safe.

A Card & A Photo

Tonight I have a card and a photo to share with you. I used the PPA74 sketch challenge  to make my card. I love their sketch challenges and try to participate in them when ever possible. My photo is for The Simple Things  photo challenge.

A little bright looking isn't it?  The stamps sets that I used are Filled With Love from the SU catalog. The next set is called Valentines Defined and is a brand new set in the SU Occasions mini catalog that will be available on January 4,2011. I really like this set a lot! The DP is also new  as well as the little Rosette that I used.  The punch is the double scallop ribbon border. Card-stock: very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Real Red.  Inks: Real Red and Crumb Cake. Last but not least I added a Real Red satin ribbon. It seems strange to be making a Valentines Day card the day after Christmas but this is the set that I was drawn to. :) I Hope you enjoy the card.

 

 

 

 

I don't think that I will ever be able to take enough photos of Wayne. You would think that after 14 years of being together I would get tired of looking at his face.  But I don't. :) On Christmas Eve afternoon I asked Wayne if he would please sit near our little Christmas tree so that I could take his picture. I know that he really did not want to but being the sweet man that he is he did it any way. I wanted to remember his look on this day. A day at home of relaxing .  No muss no fuss just hanging together.  I love this mans face!

I hope that all you enjoyed your Christmas. We did despite not having a white christmas. I have photos that I took during the Christmas holiday and will share them in a Smilebox as soon as I get them all together.  Wayne and I enjoyed spending time with some of our children and grandchildren. It is always so nice when we can see them. We had a wonderful Christmas.

I have to keep this post short tonight due to the blizzard we are having. We  are going to get lots of snow, winds up to 50 mph and could lose our power tonight. So right now we are in a winter warning. I should go and get my flashlights ready and shut down my computer. It is quite noisy outside. :(  I will be back when I have more to share with you.

It's All About Christmas

Ti's the season.......!  :) In this post you will find things that all have something to do with our Christmas of  2010. I hope you will enjoy what I have to share with you.

I do have a card, a  photo and a digital scrap page to share. All three have the same theme......and that would be Christmas. :)

My card is a digital Christmas card that I  designed to send to our family. Well, I designed it but then lost track of time and realized that I would not have time enough to order them and have them back in time to send. So I  decided to send a totally different card that I chose from Kodak. I know, I know bad Mary.

Here is the card that I designed.

 

 

The photo of Wayne and I was taken two months ago on our wedding Anniversary.  I kept the photo card very clean &  simple.  Next year I hope to have a card ready to be printed before time runs out. You can see it larger if you like but the resolution on the photo is not very good due to my saving it at a low resolution.  The card size is  5 1/2" x 4 1/4" I did use the MDS program to design it.

 

Next up are 2 photos of  new ornaments that I bought for our little Christmas tree. I saw them in the Hallmark store and knew that they belonged on my tree.  They both make me smile & brighten up my day every time I look at them. I love that a small ornamnet that did not cost much can bring me so much joy. I have linked my first photo to "The Simple Things"

I made this page for Hillary's book that I made of her and her girls (our grandchildren) for Christmas. I am very pleased to say that  I finished all 10 books that I had been working on.  I made this page using the MDS program. So there you have it just a few projects that I've made for Christmas.  I would love to hear what many of you made forChristmas 2010. If you have time please leave a comment telling me.

On a personal note it looks like we will not have a white Christmas this year. I can not tell you if or when the last time that has happened to us.  I can tell you that I have been living in NH since 1970 and I honestly do not remember a Christmas without snow. I will miss that but only for the one day. In all honesty it would be okay with me if we had no snow this winter. :) But I have a feeling that it we will have snow any day after Christmas.

And finally I would like to say that I hope all of you have a very Merry and blessed Christmas. Those of you who do not celebrate Christmas, I wish you a very Happy Holiday.
