A Fall Birthday Card

Hi Ladies, today I was looking at my calendar and realized that I needed 8 birthday cards for friends and family for the month of  September. Since next month brings fall weather I thought that I would make all of my cards with a fall color theme. I love the fall and I love the colors that the season brings. I used the PPA 56 Simplified challenge. Have you seen the new PPA look? It is awesome! If you have time go take a peek. I used Early Espresso instead of Basic Black. :)

All products used are from Stampin'UP! Stamps: 

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes. Card-stock: Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Cajun Craze (love this one) Old Olive  and Early Espresso. Ink: Early Espresso. I used the two-step bird punch extra large.  The DP is from the new mini catalog and it is called Autumn Spice. Love this paper too. I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, a very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, and basic pearls.

Before the rain came late this morning, I decided to go outdoors because it was only 75 degrees,no sun and the breeze was lovely. I spotted the first leaf  that has started to turn color! Despite all of the high temperatures and high humidity we have had this summer we did have a few nights that were in the 50's. So there above me was a red and green leaf and I *had* to get a photo of it. I thought that I would share it with you. A simple photo but seeing that one leaf sure did make me smile. I know that my favorite season is on it's way. Very soon we will be saying good-bye to the heat, humidity and lack of rain.:)

A Page & A Smilebox

Hi Ladies, I have been very busy this past week. Today was suppose to be our Family BBQ but due to the rain that we will be having all day Wayne and I had to postpone it until next Sunday. Even though I had lots of running around  to do for the BBQ food and getting the house ready I did it all while having a sinus infection it all got done though. I am disappointed that we will not be seeing our family today but I have next week to look forward too. :)Providing it does not rain. Anyway, I made a page using my MDS program from Stampin' UP! and I also made a Smilebox of Old Home Day in the town that I live in.

My page reads. Mom during the summer of 2010. Here is the quote that I used:

I have to say that I will be very happy when my book about me is finished and I can move onto the children. That will be fun.:) I am making my book about me for my children as a  Christmas gift and thank goodness it is almost done. I also made this page for a challenge at Soul Scrappers.

Wish Big Card

Hi Ladies, I was able to participate in the Monday Mojo 152 challenge today. I'm a little late since Monday was 2days ago but better late then never right? I am enjoying the challenges that I have been able to do and hope to add one more soon.  I made my card for a very special male cousin whose birthday is in just a couple of weeks.

Except for my ovals everything else is from Stampin'UP! Stamps: Word Play. I *love* this set of sentiments. Ink: Real Red. Card-stock:Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White. The DP I used is called Celebrations. This is a perfect DP for a fun and bright birthday card. Punches: Scallop Edge , Dotted Scallop ribbon border. Star extra large and small star punch. I did not know until a few seconds ago that the smaller star punch is no longer available.  I also used the perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and  Real Red satin ribbon. I had a blast making this card!   I would love to hear what you think about it.

This Sunday I am having my family BQ and I am very excited about it.  It is the one time of the year where not all but many members of my family get together.  I sure hope that we do not have rain that day. Oh and for those of you who read about my having a yard sale to sell my stamps etc...so that I could buy a new sliding glass door, well it was installed yesterday. Because it was a custom made door it took the two men who installed it 8 hours to do so. It is awesome and worth every penny that we spent on it. One more house project done and about 15 more to go.:)
