An Owl Card And A Photo

Hi ladies, I made a card yesterday and I am just now getting around to uploading it to my blog. If we were not in a storm watch all last night into early this morning I would have been able to share it with you sooner. I felt like making a card yesterday using the new extra large Owl punch. I had no idea what type of card Iwanted to make but in the end I am pleased with how my simple card came out.

Here is what I used.

Two- Step-Owl extra large punch, Occasional Quotes stamp set. Card-stock used: Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Cocolate Chip, Whisper White,  So Saffron and Old Olive. The designer series paper I used is called Island Oasis. I used the So Saffron to make the moon behind the owl. All I did was punch out a circle using the 1 3/8 punch. I also used the two-step Bird punch extra large so that I could have the Old Olive branch and leaves. I also used the scallop border to make the strip of DP paper pop a bit. Unfortunately that punch has been retired.  Every thing else I used is current. I used Soft Suede Ink to stamp my sentiment.  I used the corner rounder punch and to finish off my card I used a Tempting Turquouse button with twine. The button is from the new Brights button collection.

I am having a lot of fun using the punches from Stampin'UP! I love the owl and the bird punches. Right now they are my favorite. :)

Personal Ramblings

As a rule I am able to get out and take lots of  photos of flowers. Due to the very high heat and humidity that we have been having this summer it has been a little difficult. For one thing many of our flowers are blooming fast and passing fast due to the lack of rain. Normally, we have lots of wild flowers down by our brook. Not so this summer. I am grateful for being able to get this one lonely flower by the water. I hope the colors comes through ok.

Have you been experiencing the awful heat where your living? I know that many of the states are. We had all kinds of weather alerts and warnings last night. Warnings of a possible  tornado to severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail. We did get the thunder off and on up until midnigt. Only one heavy down pour of rain and we certainly did need that. What a summer we have had so far. I have only been able to walk outdoors 3 times in the past 2 and a half weeks. I sure hope that changes soon. :)

As for wild life on my property so far we have had a fox, groundhog, 2 fawns a deer and a bear!!! I awoke yesterday morning to our biggest bird feeder bent and broken and laying on the ground with all of the seed gone from it. This bird feeder is made of iron. So next summer I will not be feeding the birds. Having a bear come so close to my glass doors is very scarey to me. So that is just a few f the things going on my way since I've last posted. Never a dullmoment. :)

A Wedding Day Card

Hi Ladies, I have a card to share with you  today. I made a wedding day card for the PPA 51  Wedding Theme  Challenge. I hope that you like my very simple take on a Wedding card.

Here is what I used.

Card-stock: Whisper White, Basic Black and Rich Razzleberry. I used  Rich Razzleberry ink, Versamark, silver embossing powder and clear embossing powder.  The stamps sets that I used are:  Punch Potpouri and Occasional Quotes. The punches Iused are: Two-Step Bird extra large and the Full heart extra large.I used the Vintage wallpaper folder, a Real Razzleberry ribbon and a tiny pearl from the jewels Basic Pearl set. All products are from Stampin'UP!  The technique I used for this very simple card is embossing. I embossed the sentiment and the heart. Easy? You bet. :)

I was busy taking photos of a flower and of my new Shaker hat.

 
Here is my new hat. I look a little strange wearing it but it certainly helps when it is 90 degrees out and the sun is burning down on me. :)

That Face,Project 12 & A Photo

Hi Ladies, First of all thank you very much for all of  the kind words that  you left on  my last blog post. It certainly means a great deal to me.:)

This week I have been busy catching up  making some of the digital pages that I needed to do. So today I have 3 to share with you. All 3 were very simple to make. I used the MDS program from Stampin'UP!  I will be working on a card for a challenge that I participate in each week and will post that as soon as I have it made.

I try to keep my Project 12 pages to only one a month. But the month of June was so busy and I needed to make at least 2 pages. Truth be told I could have made 4 of them.  I tend to take way too many photos andI also tend to take photos of just the every day things that I do. Which is really the idea behind this project. :)

I have a photo that I would like to share with you too. The weekend before last Wayne and I went to Shaker Village. We enjoyed the peace and quite, and the beauty of this wonderful place. Although the flowers seem to be passing quickly due to our very hot and humid weather I was able to take a few photos of some flowers. Here is one that I took with a butterfly on it.

I hope the colors come through on your screen as well as they do on mine. I have so many photos that I would like to share with all of you but I have not had a lot of time to upload them all and resize them. But I will. :)

I certainly hope that all of you are having much cooler weather then we have been having for the past few weeks. I don't mind the heat as much as I mind the very high humidity. In the past 11days I have only been able to go outdoors to take a walk one time. As most of you know I look forward to walking every day. Hopefully by next week we will have some normal NH summer weather.

One last thing..........I will be selling some of my Stampin'UP! retired stamps that were not sold at my yard sale. I will also be selling other stamps from a few other companies too and I will be doing this soon.
