Hello Ladies. I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend. Last night I made another Valentine card that I would like to share with all of you. I made this card using the Pals paper Arts challenge for this week. I'm a little late getting my card done but it's done and with one one day left to spare. If you have time go take a peek at what the designers made. You will not be disappointed.
Here is my card.
Chocolate Chip, Real red,Pretty In Pink and Very Vanilla card-stock. The ink that I used is Chocolate Chip. To make the flower lighter in color I used the stamping off technique. I used the Stampin'UP! Scallop Heart of hearts Embosslits die # 117332, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder #117335, the Finial press folder,Small Heart punch #117193 and the Full Heart punch. The DP I used is Sending Love Specialty #117153. The stamp sets that I used are: Well Scripted # 118601 and the flower Image is from Of the Earth Level One hostess set. Last but not least I added a Real Red grosgrain ribbon and a button from the Late buttons located the Big catalog.
Wow! I just looked at the photo of my card and noticed that the right hand side looks a little smaller then the right hand side. I must have cut it off a little when I did the editing. Sorry about that. :)
Personal Ramblings
Today, I went for a 30 minute walk. It was very cloudy and 37 degrees outdoors. It was late afternoon when I left my house but I was determined to get out and walk before the snow storm started. I knew it would not be a good idea for me to go too far so I went for my walk on a major route. It is a busy road but because I was working with a limited amount of time and because I had not been out walking since late November a semi-flat surface and a fast route was the way for me to go. Ladies, if you like to take walks and do go walking by yourself like I do most of the time please make sure you bring a cell phone with you. Today, while out walking a big pickup truck drove right into the break down lane where I was. Instead of stopping or driving away he slowly approached me until I pulled my cell phone out of my coat pocket. As soon as he saw my phone go to my ear he drove back onto the main road. I saw him as he drove away. He was alone in the truck. This is not the first time that this has happened to me which is why I never walk the same route every day that I am able to take my walks. It has happened to me on side streets, remote areas and now a busy route. Each time it's happened I've whipped out my phone and called Wayne and thankfully, each time the man in the vehicle was spooked enough to drive away. I will never know if anyone was going to do harm to me because I had my cell phone with me. Just thought I would share that with you. I have 2 photos of me coming home from my walk because Wayne took the camera out and waited for me.:)
Did I mention that it was very windy? I'm glad that I had very warm clothes on because the walk back home was very cold. The snow looked yucky ? Not now though. It's snowing so the snow is white and pretty again.
Wayne took more photos of me but I did not want to post a lot of photos of just me.
I do have a few more photos to share of what Wayne and I did this weekend. Nothing exciting but the photos document the things we do and one day we will be able to look back and recall what we did on a certain weekend. That is one of the reasons why I have so many photos of he and I and of our family when ever I can get them. Next time I post a card or a project I will upload them to my blog.
It is now 3 AM so I had better stop typing for now. I hope that all of you have a fantastic week. Thanks so much for stopping by. Stay safe, stay warm and Smile. :)
Pretty card, Mary!
And - how scary! I'm glad you take your cell phone with you. Great advice.

Hi Mary,
I'm glad you are such a smart woman! Our Parks/Rec has a free walking club in the winter where we can safely walk inside our high school for an hour 4 days a week. Last week I walked 6 miles in 3 days w/my son and daughter.
Your card is absolutely beautiful! I'm glad I got that set. I love the script writing.
Hugs,
Gina

Great card, Mary! I just love that pink and chocolate pattern paper! My niece had a similar experience when walking last summer with a driver who was following her. She did not walk home, since she didn't want him to know where she lived. Instead, she walked to a gas station and called a friend to take her home. She did call the police and report it. They told her to always make certain that she has a cell phone with her when she walks, to walk in well-populated areas, and to call them if it happens again. Good tips for all of us to keep in mind! And, oh, thanks for playing @ PPA!

That's scary, Mary! I am paranoid so I will not go walking by myself. I do think it would be good when this happens that you write down the type of vehicle and license place and contact your local police. They may be trying to find some of these people and they are just escaping them. I think it would a good thing to do. You've been lucky young lady.

Although I don't say it enough, you are an inspiration to card makers and scrapbookers. That is why I chose to feature your blog tomorrow (Jan 19). Thanks for so many great card and scrapbook examples.
