Bugs And Kisses

Today I made a card using an Older Stampin'UP! stamp set and this weeks challenge from Pals Paper Arts.  After looking at the photo I was inspired  to make a card for a little boy. I have no cards for little boys in my stash so this was a good challenge for me. This challenge also had me break out the Bugs & Kisses stamp set from Stampin'UP! Shame on me. I have had this set for three years and have never used it. It is an adorable stamp set not only for little boys but for little girls as well. I can see myself  making lots of cards for the little ones now that I have finally mounted the stamps onto the wood. :)

 

All of the products that I used to make this card are from Stampin' UP!  Here is what I used to make  this very quick and easy card. Card-stock: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Brilliant Blue and So Saffron, I used Old Olive ink. The designer paper is called Tall Tales. Love this paper. :) I added a Rose Red button and my card was finished. The finished card size is 4 1/4 x 5x 1/2"

I have a few photos to share with you. On Saturday I took my granddaughter, Molly to have her Senior portraits done. Colleen, my stepdaughter is a manager for Sears and took Molly's photos. I am very pleased with how they came out. In all I believe there are 25 different poses. I chose only 4 to share with you. I will also be taking Molly's portraits in a couple of weeks at an Apple Orchard that Molly loves.  I hope that you enjoy looking at some of her photos. :)

I hope that all of you have had a wonderful weekend. Wayne and I did.  We ended up going to lake Winnisquam. A lovely place to visit. Before we went there we stopped off at the local Blueberry farm that we visit every year. I was all set to pick fresh blueberries but...........the farm was closed for the season. Wayne and I always go this time of the year but due to all of the rain that we have had this season I guess they had to close early. I was so disappointed. I look forward to making a delicious blueberry cake every year. Oh well, I will have to use the berries that I buy from the store and hope that they are fresh and sweet.

My First Halloween card For 2009

It's hard to believe that fall will be here soon. That means many of us will be making our Halloween  cards. Since I have purchased a few new Halloween stamps recently, I thought that I would start making my cards. Every year I make just a couple of Halloween cards and the rest are bought from a local store. Although Halloween is not a big day for me I have lots of  children in my family who love it. I think they love the Trick or Treat part the best. :) I also send cards to some of the adults in my family who still think that Halloween is cool. Anyway, I am determined to make *all* of my cards for the rest of the year. That's a lot of cards! OY!

  

Here is what I used to make my card:

Tendril Collage from Memory Box and the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from Stampin'UP!The designer paper is from MB and is called Twilight. The card- stock is Whisper White and Basic Black from Stampin'UP!I used the new Martha Stewart bat punch to add a tiny bat over the moon. I made it 3-D .:) I also used gems  from MB. The grosgrain ribbons Basic Black and Really Rust  are from Stampin" UP!I purchased all of the Memory Box items at Arts Plus. The Stampin'Up! items were all purchased from me. Ha-ha.

 

Personal Ramblings

Wayne and I went to York beach this past Tuesday afternoon. WOW! The sky was so dark and there was fog over the ocean. We went to a few of the shops, watched salt water taffy being made and Wayne bought me a pretty pair of  SS earrings with lilac and white crystals. I love crystals. After that we went to the beach despite the fog. I went into the water and boy was it cold!!!! We took some pictures of each other and I wanted to share them with all of you but.......they did not come out very well. We plan on going back to York Beach, Maine soon and hopefully we will have lots of sunshine.

A Get Well Card

A  few days ago I bought a Memory Box penguin stamp to make a Get Well card for a young man. He *loves* penguins. I remembered that Arts Plus had a stamp that would fit the bill. So I bought it and I made his card. 

  

I love using buttons and ribbon on my cards but thought it would be better if I did not add ribbon since it is for a boy. The penguin and the sentiment are from Memory Box. The designer paper is called Spiceberry and is also from Memory box. I used Whisper White and Old Olive card-stock from Stampin'UP! The mini black library clip and the window punch that I used are also from Stampin'UP! I used the small and large labels from Spellbinders and UHU Glue.I paper pieced the sling and the wrapping around the penguins head. A very simple card but one that was made from the heart.

If anyone knows of a children's get well card stamp set  that I can buy please let me know. School will be starting soon and we all know how so many children become sick. I sure could use a good get well stamp set for the younger people in my life.
