Here I am with my weekly blog update. I wish that I could blog more often and perhaps I will be able to again soon. But for now blogging weekly is working for me. I have a very simple birthday card that I made and 3 spring photos to share with you.
Here is my card.
Here is what I used:
Stamps: Garden Panda , Happy Birthday and Butterflies all from Memory Box.
Card-stock: Whisper White and old Olive from Stampin'UP! Designer paper is called Sweetbayand made by Memory Box.
Inks:Versfine Vintage sepia, I also used my prisma coloring pencils a Gamsol to blend the colors.
Embellishments: Green jewel stickers from Memory Box. put them in the center of each flower. Googly eyes( just cause I love using them) and Dazzling Diamonds from SU.
Tools:Marvy Uchida large round punch and the Giga round scallop punch. I thought it might be a good idea to use these punches more often then I have been. :) Piercing tool. UHU Permanent roller and Twist & glue. Scor-Pal to score my card.
Technique: Paper piecing.
Finished size of card: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"
I do like making a sweet and simple card once in awhile. Working with the Memory box stamps always make me smile. I'm sure that you have some favorite stamps that make you smile. I would love to hear which stamps make you smile while your using them.
Two days ago Wayne went out to the side yard to cut down some birch trees that were ruined due to all of the heavy snow that we received this past winter. I decided to go out and take a few photos of him and a few of the trees budding. I know spring is here for sure when Wayne is outdoors picking up all of the tree limbs or cutting trees down due to damage. It was a beautiful sunny day and the temperature was 80 degrees. A perfect day.
What a mess! But it will much better when Wayne has finsihed clearing the trees.
This is how our trees looked 2 days ago. Today they have lots more buds and there is a lot of green.
I wish that I had taken more time to get more shots of the budding trees but I have been very busy trying to play catch up with things indoors.
Personal Ramblings
Recently I joined an on-line book club. I am quite excited to be a part of this wonderful group. The name of the club is called The cafe Corner Book Club. If your looking for an on-line book club to join then surf right on over to The Cafe Book club and sign up. Right now we are reading the book The host. We will be reading one book per month and then discussing it. Sound like fun? :)
It has been very warm here in NH. I have been able to go for my walks every single day since last Thursday. It has been wonderful. Today however, it shot up to 92 degrees so no walking today. It is now 80 degrees and I am so tempted to go out but it is getting dark because we are expecting some thunder, rain and lightning. The wind is quite strong. Hm, I wonder if I could at least walk 20 minutes. I think I will try. Thank you very much fro stopping by and checking out my blog. I wish that I could blog every day but I truly have been very busy. Tonight I have 4 retirement cardsto make for Wayne. Four of his close co-workers will be leaving on Thursday. Okay, I'm off to take a quick walk. Have a wonderful week. Smile. :)
Hi Mary
I love this card. Memory Box makes me smile and so does your blog. Glad to hear Wayne is cutting up trees and not you. Just a little joke. OK not funny. Chain saw!! I plan to start walking too. WOW in the 90's. Our highest was 84 last Thurs. I spoke to my MOM today. I will keep you posted on Gino and thanks for your prayers for my family. I am besides myself right now and very sad about the accident. Take care. Tami

Sorry to see all the damage from the winter! Glad Wayne's back (obviously) is much better! We're having some beautiful weather for a change, and it's cooled off a bit. Love the panda card! Have a blessed day & I hope you have lots more pretty days so you can get out & walk.
