The card that I made tonight is for the second challenge of the CHF Thomas Kinkade Blitz. Have you stopped by Cornish Heritage Farms to check it out ? There are chats, challenges and prizes. :) If you have time stop by and join in the fun.
There are 2 reasons why the heading of this post is called Seize the day. First of all the image that I used reminded me a little like my driveway today. Okay not as pretty but lots of snow and truck tracks. Secondly, I recently received the stamp set Scene It! from CHF and the sentiment is in the set. I love that saying because I believe very strongly in seizing the day, each and every day. So despite the fact that my driveway was a mess and it was cold and not all of the roads were very nice, I had lots to do. So I seized the day. :)
So here is my card and although it is simply done I hope that you like it.
Here is a close up of the spotlight on my card.
Here is what I used to make my card.
Stamps: Village Christmas, Paisley Backgrounder and sentiment from Scene It! All stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms.
Inks: Versamagic,Versafine Crimson Red and Creamy Caramel from Stampin UP!
Card-stock: True Thyme, Whisper White, Kraft and Cranberry Crisp all from SU.
Embellishments: Ribbon.
Tools:Marvy Uchida oval punch,UHU permanent roller and pop dots for the 3 dimensional look.
Finished card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"
So there you have it. I know that the stamp I used is called Village Christmas but aside from the red ribbon on the lamp post it certainly looks like our winter this year. I can use this stamp pretty much all winter where I live. It would make a very nice thinking of you, or a hello card. Imagine sending it to Florida? Just kidding about that. Ha-ha.I have a few friends who live in Florida and they might think I had lost my mind if I sent them a card with the image of lots of snow on it in February. :) Tomorrow Wayne and I are going shopping for a new snow blower. Now that is not my idea of a good time but I'm sure he feels that way any time he takes me shopping for stamps. So I will be a good sport about it.
Thank you to all of you who take took the time to leave me comments yesterday. I loved reading everyone of them. The comments on my card are sweet but I love hearing about what your up to. Thanks for sharing some of your day with me. I really appreciate it. I hope that all of you have lots of fun and enjoy the weekend. I will be back when I have something to share with you. Smile. :)
