I'm late in getting my post up tonight. I had hoped to have this up by early this evening but life got in the way.:) When I received the stamp set Perfectly Polished by Rupa Shevde from Gina K. Designs I saw lots of possibilities using this set. But one little gift idea came to me right away. Thing was I did not have all of the items to make it. So off to Walmart and Michaels I went in search of what I needed. Half the fun of making a gift for me is finding the right things that go with my idea and for the person/persons I am making it for.
Wayne and I have three daughters. Two of them have girls. So this was made for them in mind. Yes, I have two sets ready to go. :)
So here are some photos and then I will explain what I did and where every thing came from.
Both our daughters and their daughters are girly girls. Each of our daughters also has 2 daughters so I bought 3 bottles of nail polish, 3lip glosses and nail files. My daughter has always had a "girls day" with Molly and Darcy. She would give them manicures and then give them a little blush on their faces, do their hair etc... Then she would do her nails. I think it has been awhile since they have done that together so I made this gift for them. I am sure that it will make Jen and the girls smile. I'm also sure that she and the girls will have a day of manicures. Hillary and her little girls will have a blast too.
Here is the card that I made to go with the gift.
And here is the set together. Well that's pretty obvious huh?:)
This set was so easy and so much fun to make. I am giving this as a "just because gift". But when I finished making it and saw how much it reminded me of spring I thought that this would be a neat little gift to make for girls of all ages as an Easter gift. I also thought that had I made the colors red and pink I could have made it a Valentines Day gift. Of course this could also be given as a birthday gift for a friend that your thinking of. Just a few ideas. So here is what I used.
Stamps: Perfectly Polishedby Rupa Shevde from Gina K. Designs.
Card-Stock: Pure luxury 120 lb card-stock. from Gina K. Designsand Iced Amethyst from Prism Papers.Designer paper from DCWV. Pre -made card 3 1/2 x5" from SU.
Inks:Versafine Vintage Sepia. I also used my Prisma Color Pencils and gamsol.
Embellishments: Rose and Light Orchid ribbon from Stamin'UP! Purple and pink Buttons.
Tools: Marvy Uchida Mega and Giga scallop rectangle punches. Foam Brushes.
Other: Wood basket purchased from Michaels, Apple Barrel White acrylic paint and pink tissue paper.
The cost of the wooden basket was only 1.00. Each item inside of the basket was 1.00 each. So the cost of making this little gift was 9.00 and change. I'm not sure how much a small piece of tissue costs or how much it cost me to use the white paint that I all ready had on hand. I also have no idea how much it cost me to add the buttons either. I have thousands of buttons.:)I made the tag using the pure luxury card-stock and the Polished Perfectly set. I also used a sentiment from the stamp set to put on the front of my card. So there you have it. It was easy to make and I can hardly wait to give it to my daughter.
I will not be posting any thing new for Sunday. Sunday is my day to spend with Wayne, to clean and to cook a big Sunday dinner. Speaking of cleaning I am hoping to get my room completely cleaned before I go to bed tonight.:) Thank you for answering my question about how you prefer to work. Mess or no mess. It was fun reading your answers.
I sure hope that all of you are keeping warm. As I write this it is 6degrees and going down quickly. We are in for another cold spell once again. I was very happy that I did not have to go out today because it was so very cold. One more week and February will be here and if we are all lucky it will start warming up.
Have a wonderful Sunday. Smile. :)
