Glue + Clipboard = A Photo Gift

By now most of you know that I love altering things. So I was a very happy camper to get my package from Alyssa of UHU Glue. Inside was UHU glue and a clipboard from Saunders. The challenge was to make something using the UHU glue roller and the clipboard.  Here is what I came up with using these products.

 

Those of you who have altered a clipboard know how simple it is to do. Those of you who have never altered one before I am going to explain how I made mine. 

1. I painted the clipboard using white acrylic paint. You can find it at any craft store.

2.  I chose the designer paper that I wanted to use. In this case I used K-ology by K&Company. Once my clipboard was dried I then drew an outline of  both the front and the back of the board on the designer paper.

3. Cut paper then apply the UGU glue onto the paper and adhere it to the clipboard.

4. Cut a mat to go under photo and adhere that to the designer paper. Now add all of the embellishments that you want. I added 3-D words also from K& Company, ribbons to the top and then using the UHU Twist and Glue I added my buttons at the bottom. Done!

* Tip.If your designer paper hangs over the edge of the clipboard just use a sand bock or sand paper to sand it down so that it will fit perfectly.

I will be giving this to Darcy as a Christmas gift. I made one for Molly's last birthday and she loved it. I am sure that Darcy will be quite pleased to have one of her with her Mom and sister.

I do apologize for not keeping up with my blog as often as I would like. However, I have been very busy. Also the weather here has been incredible during the day so I have been walking  just about every single day. That takes up a good chunk of my afternoon. After I have walked a few miles  I come home and take a shower and then continue to do the things that I was doing around the house before I left for my walk. I had no idea just how badly I have let things go around my home. So I have been doing lots of extra cleaning. OY!

Tomorrow Wayne and I will be going up North again so that I can take some more foliage pictures. This time there should be lots more color to capture because the foliage is now peaking. :) It is gorgeous where I live. Mother Nature is certainly putting on a beautiful show for us this fall. If I get some pretty photos then I will share them with all of you. Now, I have to go and cut out some stamps and then spend some time with Wayne before turning in for the night.

A Card, A sale and Some UHU Glue.

Today was a great day fo me. I got up early and made a very simple Christmas card using the new Simply sent Card Elements Kit made by Stampin'UP! The idea behind this set its to make 18 Christmas cards that are super easy to make. I used this kit and then added a few different things to make it my own design.

 

I chose to use mellow Moss card-stock instead of the Mellow moss designer paper. I added iridescent ice on top of the image, used the Polka Dots  backgrounder from CHF and I added a poinsettia silk flower by Prima.

 

I hope that you can see the iridescent ice in this picture. I felt that this gave the card more of a holiday look.

Last night I came home to a package fromUHU glue and thought that I would share what I received.  The clipboard is from Saunders and I am quite excited to get started on making my project.

Today was truly a great day for me. I got so many things around my home done that needed to be done. I have done the laundry,washed floors etc.. I took a walk today, spoke with a girlfriend that I have not spoken with since June. Bad Mary! It was wonderful to talk with her. Then I spoke with my  friend Bette .  It was such a beautiful day here and I wanted some freshly picked apples so off to the apple farm I went and I picked 7 pounds of apples. I hope to find a good apple cake recipe.  Life is good. :)

Photos to Share & Another Digital Page

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I have been trying new things. Well, new for me anyway. :) I have had a long list of things to do and to try for quite some time and I am  finally getting around to doing some of what is on my list.  I know that I recently shared with you my very first 2 digital scrapbook pages. Some of you liked them and some of you were kind enough not to post what you thought about them. So tonight I will share my last page with you for awhile. I think it has been long enough since I have made my last card or given a review or made a tutorial or given something away. All of which I intend to do very soon.

I know that I usually share my photos with you by simply posting them. Tonight I decided to try the Smilebox. Please be aware that I did add music with my photos so if you have your speakers up you may want to turn them down or off. Heck, I hate when I visit someones blog or web site and have no warning about music being played and I have just about jumped out of my chair. Not kidding. :)  I certainly hope that I did all of this right.

Today Wayne and I went North of where we live. We went to Rattlesnake Mountain because I was told that it was an easy mountain for me to hike. That it was very simple. What my PT neglected to tell me was that the path was very,very steep. Unfortunately I was only able to make it half way up the maountain and had to come back down without being able to see the beautiful lakes and other mountains from the top. I was not a happy camper. More then that I was sad that I would not be able to see the beauty of the fall in NH from above. Not today and perhaps never again. I just might have to take a gondolla ride.;) Other then that though we really had a wonderful day. I got to take a lot of photos of some foliage and other cool things. I went to Ashland and Holderness, NH for the very first time where I got to see a neat covered bridge and Squam lake. All in all we had a great day. Now here is my last simple digital page for awhile. I seriously have some cards and projects to design. This is my beautiful daughter Jennifer.Okay so I have a small predjudice. :) I took this photo of Jen in June of this year. Jen, does not like her picture being taken but she was a good sport about my taking her photo this particuliar day. I try and take as many pictures of her as I can so that she will not be my age and wish that she had more photos to share with her children or grandchildren. I have been working on other scrap pages and a book that I started at a class I took at Scrappin'Soul Sisters last week. But they will have to be put away for a few weeks and when I am fisnished doing all of my other "stuff" then I will bring them out again and play. I love that my journey has been taking me to new places and has been a part of my learning new things. I hope that you have been enjoying some of my adventures.
