Today I was thinking that 2 of my sisters have birthdays coming up. My youngest sister who is 20 years younger then I am has a birthday in November. Another one of my sisters has a birthday the first week of December. She is older then I am. I know that it seems a little bit early to be thinking of their birthdays but because the holidays are always so hectic for me I need to think ahead. The stamp set that I used reminded me of my youngest sister and myself. I hope you like it.
Card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Stamps:
Dear Sister from Rubber Stamp Concepts. I purchased this set at Stamping Memories.
Inks:
Vintage Sepia from Versafine and Antique Linen Distress Ink from Ranger. I used chalks to color in some of the image.
Card-stock:
Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip from Stampin UP!, Lemon Tart from PaperTrey Ink and the designer paper is from the Basic Grey Stella Ruby collection.
Accessories:
Cotton lace made by Wyla lace, Chocolate Pearls from Kaiser Craft.
Techniques:
DP and stippling.
I wish that my photo had come out sharper. It looks so much prettier in person. Anyway, as you can see this card was very easy to make.
Wayne and I went blueberry picking yesterday at a blueberry farm that is about 5 miles away from where we live. We both filled up our buckets with Patriot blueberries. Have you ever had them? They are so sweet and delicious. I eat them like they are candy which means I will have to go back every weekend to keep buying more until they are out of season. After that we went for a ride to explore some roads in our town that we had never traveled before. I love doing that. I guess as you get older it's the small things in life that make you happy. After that it was a quick trip to Shaker Village so that I could buy fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob. YUMO! We had a BBQ just in the nick of time because yet another storm rolled in.
Today we were not able to do too much because we had one storm after anther up until 7 pm. Wayne and I did go for a walk as soon as the Storm stopped which was nice. There was some thunder in the distance but nothing serious for me to panic about. :)It was 12 years ago today that Wayne and I had our very first date. So all in all we had a very nice weekend. I hope that all of you were able to enjoy your weekend. Hard to believe that we are now in the first week of August. Before we know it the fall will be here and the leaves will all be turning. Wowzer! Okay I am off to eat more blueberries. I hope that you all have a great week. Smile. :)
Congratulations on your "date" a-versary! That's really sweet! I bought blueberries at Sam's last week (2 lbs) but they are from Florida. Really good! Also got peaches at the farmer's market here & made a big peach cobbler. We had some of it with ice cream tonite. Sure love those fruits & vegetables of summer. Don't know how much longer it will be available, though. Our temps have hovered between 105 & 110 all week & today was 111. Things are drying up badly! Be thankful for all the storms & rain you're getting - sure wish you could send some our way!!!

That card is "drop dead gorgeous" Mary. I need to check that set out as I have a very special sister who is 17 years younger than I am and she would adore a card made from this set. I wonder how versatile it would be? I will go see. You are so lucky to have such a great stamp store so near you. BTW--blueberries are wonderful for you so eat to your hearts content. What a great man Wayne is--you make a fabulous pair.

Mary this card is beautiful. Your sister is going to love it. I'm finished my sister Mary's card in December also and realized that she is going to be 40 this year. Oooppps, now I need to make another card for her. Have to celebrate the big 40. I'm with you on having all my birthday cards done through the end of year. No stressing at the holidays for me. I'm going to enjoy them. Have a great day!
