I am a bit behind in putting up some posts. I love sharing with all of you about the different things that go on in my life. I have missed being able to do that as often as I would like. So tonight I am going to share with you the bags that I made up for the children who were at our family BBQ. I have made this type of bag before and I am sure that I will do it again for other special occasions. Why? Because they are so simple to do and the children get a big kick out of them. The parents do too. As for me, watching our grandchildren receive their little gifts always puts a huge smile on my face.
As you can see I used cellophane bags and made toppers for them. The girls had jacks and balls and a purple or yellow bottle of bubbles in their bags. The boys each received marbles and a blue bottle of bubbles. The toppers for the girls were made using Saffron yellow card-stock from SU. Each topper was stamped using the Polka Dots backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. I then stamped "Party Time" on whisper White card-stock using Elegant Eggplant ink for the girls and Tempting Turquoise for the boys. Both inks are from Stampin'UP! I then Using the 1 1/8 punch I punched out the sentiment I placed it onto a 1 3/8circle and then finally onto the round scallop. To finish it off I added 3 purple dew drops on each of the girls toppers. As you can see the only difference between the boy and girls toppers are the colors and on the boys I added a little ribbon rather then the dew drops. I had a blast making these little party favors.
Wayne and I made sure that we had lots and lots of bubbles for the children. I have lots of pictures that I took of them making the bubbles but chose only 2 to share with you. This is a picture of Juliette and Caleb. I stopped them in mid action. :) Oh to be a kid again!
But wait! I caught someone who thinks she is a kid. Ha-ha.
This is Bev and I think of her and call her my SIL. She and my oldest brother have been together for 13 years. She is such a sweetheart and I was not surprised to see her making bubbles. She has the energy and the heart of a child. She is such a special person and I am so grateful to have her in my family. If you do not have any bubbles then go buy yourself some. I will be making bubbles this weekend for sure! I may not be a kid but that does not mean that I can not play like I am right?
Tonight I am working on 2 cards. One type of card I made quite a few years ago and one that I have never tried before. I look forward to sharing them with you. I will also be sharing a few pictures of Wayne and I taken this past Monday. After my appointment in Portsmouth, NH we went to York Beach Maine. My favorite place t be.
I hope that you are having an excellent week. Do you have any plans for the Labor Day weekend? I would love to hear them. Smile. :)
Oh my goodness! I LOVE the bubble bags. An absolutely adorable idea!! I may have to borrow (CASE) your idea! Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Mary: ohhhhhh I love bubbles too, but I can bet you aren't surprized eh? I sit out on the deck at night and they LQQK awesome in the blue or green spotlights. Don't laugh, try it and see how pretty they look floating off in the night. Usually Labour Day is just that, we try to catch up on things that need to be done in the yard. Have a good night, Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne
