It's Saturday night and I want to say hello to all of you who visit my blog. I hope that your all enjoying your weekend so far.
Last night I finished making the altered clipboard that I started the bight before. I wanted to put it up on my blog sooner but time was not on my side as far as getting things done quick as I would have liked. As promised I made an altered item for those of you who requested that I do more altered items. Those of you who asked to see more of my pictures well this chipboard has one picture that I took when doing my portrait assignment. This project is doing double duty for me. I am fulfilling some requests from some of you and it is a gift for Molly. I hope that you like it.
First of all I purchased this kit at the CK Convention last month. It came with the designer papers and the black and white ribbons. The clipboard was free.I purchased it from Scrapbooks 'N Stickers. Please double click on the photo if you would like to see it larger.
Here is how I made mine.
1. First I pained the clipboard white using acrylic paint that I bought at Michaels. I painted at least 4 coats to both sides.
2. While the last coat of paint was drying I cut the paper strips to fit the front side of the board. The measurement for this clipboard is 6"x9" so my papers were cut 6" in width.
3. After cutting all of my strips of paper I ran them through my 900 Xyron that uses permanent adhesive. I arranged my papers the way that I wanted them and then adhered them to my chipboard.
4. I cut out a piece of black and white Basic Grey paper to fit the backside of the clipboard. I adhered it.
5. Next I Cut out white and pink twill ribbon long enough to go around the entire clipboard. I ran each ribbon through my Xyron and then put the white twill down first and then put the pink trill ribbon on top of the white. The reason why I did this was because I thought it would look pretty and that I would be able to bring in some of the pink on the dress that Molly was wearing.
6. Using the stamp Sweet 16 from Penny Black that I purchased from Stamping Memories, I stamped it onto white card-stock using SU Rose Red ink. I punched out this sentiment using my Marvy Uchida large square punch, I decided to use black card-stock to pop it a bit so using my Mega scallop punch I made the black square. I used the white Inkssentials to add the tiny little dots on the scallop edges.
7. I decided that I wanted to add the charm Princess to the Sweet Sixteen sentiment so I punched a small hole in the lower right hand of the black scalloped card-stock. I added a sliver eyelet before putting my tiny white ribbon through and then slipped it through the jump ring of the charm, tied a bow and done! I felt that adding the eyelet would keep the card-stock from tearing.
8. I took some of the black and white ribbon that was supplied in the kit and began tying them into double knots through the top pf the clipboard clip. I also added pink ribbons that I had in my huge stash of ribbon. I added a black and white flower from Making Memories, and a 3-D pink heart right by the # 16. It needed a little bling. ;)
9.last but not least I added my favorite picture of Molly. I think she looks so sweet and so playful in this picture. This is who Molly has always been to me and will always be to me.
So there you have it! I have one homemade gift to give to Molly for her birthday in just 3 weeks. Now I have to think of what to buy her. :) Not so easy.
Now I am off to get all of the gifts that I have for Wayne for Father's Day wrapped and put into a hug colorful bag that I bought yesterday. I have to get his cards signed and all set to give to him. As most of you know, Wayne and I always celebrate special occasions at midnight. So I need to get hopping. I bought him a fathers day cake, It has his favorite golden cake and this time around I had the baker add chocolate whipped cream on it. I hope he likes it. It sure does sound good to me. :)
Tomorrow some of the children and the grandchildren will be coming up to see him. I hope that we have a beautiful day so that they can all go out and play. They all love running around our land and we enjoy watching them. I will be taking pictures of them of course. I'm sure that Wayne will have a wonderful day. I will be back on Monday with a card. Not sure what type of card because I have not made it yet.
Have a wonderful Sunday and Smile. :)
Please give Wayne our Best Wishes for a very Happy Father's Day. Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne

Hi Mary, I love this clipboard!!! Molly is going to be thrilled with it. And if you email me, I have the perfect sweet 16 gift for you to give her. I gave my niece this precious necklace for her 16th birthday last month and she loved it. I don't know how to put a link here in your blog to where I bought it. It is very pretty and suiting. I think I will make that same niece this clipboard and put her beautiful prom photo on it for her. I love the inspiration you impart to us. Thank you so very much.
