A Mother's Day Card

Hi ladies! It has been awhile since I lasted posted anything. Sorry about that but I have been very busy. I know, I know, I say that a lot but it's the truth. I honestly do not know how so many of you can post a card every day. I used to but by designing and blogging my cards every day I fell behind doing so many things around my home and I was not able to keep up with my family and friends. Not cool. Sharon of  Nasty Wench's All Things Crafty  is having a card contest. Just go here for more information. If you want to enter a Mother's Day card you have until May 1st. :) Here is the card that I am submitting.

Stamps:

Mother and Child by Magenta. Sentiment from River City. I purchased both stamps from Stamping Memories.

Card-Stock:

Bazzill (rose color) Stampin'UP! Always Artichoke and Whisper White.  Designer paper is from the Tea and Silk Collection "Nijo"  from Prima Marketing. I purchased it from Stamping Memories.

Inks:

Versafine Vintage Sepia.

Accessories:

Cloth lace from Wrights. Dazzling diamonds from SU. Butterflies punched from the new Martha Stewart butterflies punch.

The butterflies look so much prettier in person.

I have been doing the same things that I have been doing for the past few weeks. I walk each day except for yesterday and today because it has been raining. More rain for tomorrow too. :(  I have been working around the house, cooking, laundry.........you know the drill. I have been trying to catch up with friends and trying to stay caught up with my family. So far so good. My photography class is going very well. The only thing I seem to keep messing up on are my assignments. Other then hat I am learning  a lot. I had no idea there was so much to learn about taking pictures.

Are any of you going to the Creating Keepsakes scrapbook convention in Manchester, NH? I think it is on May 16th and 17th As it stands right now I will be there. Wayne will be taking me so I would be going  on Saturday. I sure  hope that I will see some of you there. :)

Happy Birday

Today I had a few minutes to stamp so I decided to make a card that would be quick and easy. Quick for me is 15 minutes. This card is for Wayne. His birthday isn't until June so I am sure that I will be making him at least one more card for his special day. :)

I used The Resting Bird and Happy Bird Day Dashed stamps from Memory Box. I stamped the bird  right on to  a piece of designer paper from the Memory Box Inspire collection. I purchased these from Stamping Memories. I stamped the sentiment on the same paper and then punched it out using the Stampin' UP! window punch. I used  glue pop dots to adhere it to the designer paper. Using ribbon from May Arts I tied it in a single knot and then adhered it to my card.  The card stock that I used is Lemon Tart from Paper Trey Ink.  I rounded the corners of the designer paper and card-stock because I liked the way it looked with the swirl printed on the paper. This was an easy and an affordable card to make.  I was thrilled to be able to make a card that I thought would be masculine enough to give to Wayne. I would love to find a stamp for the inside of my card that reads "From one old bird to another". If any of you know where I might find that sentiment please let me know. If no one makes it then I will computer generate it. ;) Oops! I almost forgot! The ink that I used to stamp my images is Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink from Colorbox.

Our weather just keeps on being beautiful and I am loving it. Today when I went for my walk it was 75 degrees! Tomorrow it is going to be 85 degrees. It is hard to believe right now that we had a difficult winter. Wayne cleaned out one of our gardens today so that the plants would get more sunshine. It is lovely to see green plants growing in the ground. If our weather continues to stay this way I expect to see some flowers in a few weeks. 

Okay I am off to finish making Wayne's dinner for tomorrow. Then I have to work on my homework for my photography class. This week we had to take pictures of 3 things in a line in our driveway and focus on the middle object. Then take a few pictures that were of interest to us. Like a door etc. I have done that but now I need to gather the information from each of my pictures, take them to a lab tomorrow. Tomorrow night I will be writing down the information on the backs of each of my pictures.  I am learning a lot and loving it.  I will share a picture or 2 with all of you by this weekend if you would like. The pictures that I have taken so far are not very impressive but I am hoping that by week 10 I will have some awesome pictures. :)

Lots To Share With You

Hi Ladies. Please forgive me for keeping this blog entry brief. I lost the original post and it was quite detailed. UGH! I hate when that happens. So I am going to start again but this time I am going to share every thing a bit quicker. If you have ever lost a post before you were able to save it then you will understand how frustrating it is.

Taylored Expressions is selling some very beautiful twill. I ordered all of the colors and love them! The quality is wonderful, the service I received was awesome!  My photo does not do the colors justice. They are all yummy looking in person.

This past Wednesday I went to Stamping Memories to pick up a few things.  Liz, has gotten in so many new different stamps like the New Bella's, the Tiddly Inks and Chichiboulie stamps Also from Stamping Bella.  There were lots more  Backgrounders and Thomas Kinkade stamps both from Cornish Heritage Farms.  New Itty Bitty's from Lockhart Stamps,  Memory Box stamps, new ribbons from May Arts, designer papers and so much more. If you are not lucky enough to live near this fantastic store you can order them from Liz or from the on-line stores.

   Love these little Bitty's and I am anxious to make a card using them.

Last but not least. As most of you know I am taking a class in photography. By the way, I am loving the class. I am hoping that when the 10 weeks is up I will be able to share some beautiful photo's with you. Anyway, I stopped of at Michaels yesterday and found a beautiful magazine called Life Images.  If you love photography then this magazine is for you. The photo's inside of it are stunning! I am feeling very inspired by it and thought that I would share it with you.

So there you have it. I hope that you have enjoyed some of the new things that I have found in my travels this past week.

As for me, I am doing well...............just lots busier then I would like. Every time I have tried to stamp something has come up like calls from my family and friends(always a welcomed interruption) and unexpected appointments not so welcomed.  I have been keeping up with my walking most every day and that makes me feel good. :) Then there are all of the daily chores that need to be done. It seems as though I never have enough time in the day to accomplish all that I would like to. Know what I mean? Our weather has been fantastic! It was 82 degrees here in the southern part of NH It was gorgeous. Needless to say our snow is now melting very fast. Yay! Good times.  Okay, I am now off to do our bills and balance the checkbooks and then call it a night. I hope that I will be able to stamp a card tomorrow in between doing laundry, cooking , walking, cleaning............you get the idea. I hope that all of you are having a wonderful weekend. Smile. :)
