The Winner is....... And 2 New Snow Pictures

Have you ever noticed that my blog titles are not very catchy? I try to think up wonderful titles or titles that are funny. But I tend to only come up with titles that are straight to the subject matter. I'm not very clever am I. :)

First of all, thank you very much to all of you who took the time to leave a comment along with your favorite color combinations. I have enjoyed reading all of them! I intend to print out all of these color combinations and try them all out. If any of you read all of the comments then you would have discovered the same thing that I did. The majority of women are loving pink and dark brown or dark brown with different blues. Both of which are awesome colors together.  Okay enough of me and what I think or observed.

Okay, as most of you know NH received yet another snow storm this past Monday. I went outdoors with my ruler and we received 12 inches of snow. Once again, it was beautiful to look at but poor Wayne had to do the snow blowing and shoveling.  We are suppose to be getting another storm this Friday. OY! As usual I took pictures and I thought that I would share just 2 of them with all of you.

Time For A Give-A-Way.

Today, when I took a break from some of the work that I was doing I decided to put away a few of the newest stamping items  that I recently purchased. I realized that I had a few duplicates of stamps, ribbon and buttons. That's bound to happen when you do not keep a list of what you buy. :) Anyway, I decided that it was time for me to have another Give-A Way. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favorite card or scrap-booking color combination is. Since most of us have more then one favorite color combo please feel free to leave a comment with your choice of colors each day. Please only one a day. :) I am going to keep this open until Wednesday, January 16. A name will be chosen by random.org and I will announce the winner by 10 PM that night.

I hope that all of you had a fantastic weekend and will have a wonderful week. We are in for another snow storm tomorrow. We are expecting 6-12 inches. Yikes. So much for our January thaw. Looks like we are back to the cold snowy weather again. On the brighter side.......spring will be here in just a few months. Now that is something to smile about.  Smile. :)

One Backgrounder 2 Cards

Yesterday I decided to make another card using the Victorian Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. Right now this is my very favorite Backgrounder. I challenged myself to make a monochromatic card but make it a Valentines Day Card and not use red or pink.  I knew what color I would use and thought "this will be a breeze". Well for most people it might have been but for me it was a little harder then I expected it to be.  It was half done last night when another card idea came into my head. So I started card number two. Both of them had to be left as they were until I did the errands that needed to be done today. While I was out another thought came to mind. Why not stop off at the store and buy some buttons that might be a bit elegant for each of my cards.  So that is what I did. Thank you Wayne. :) I called Wayne at work tonight and thanked him for buying the buttons for me. Ha-ha.

Here is my first card and as you can see I used Ivory, browns and gold in keeping with my monochromatic theme. I used the heart punches because I felt that it made my card look more like a Valentines Day card.  I thought it could also be used as a wedding card too.

Stamps: Victorian Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. Image is made by Inkadinkado. I purchased it at Stamping memories.  Sentiment is from Fancy Flexible Phrases from Stampin'UP!

Card-Stock: Suede Dark Brown and Vanilla Cream from Prism Papers.

Inks: Vintage Sepia fromVersafine.

Embellishments: Dark brown satin ribbon  and gold buttons from I Kandee purchased from Stamping Memories. The gold button on the ribbon was purchased from Jo-Annes.

The hearts are popped up so that they are 3-D. I did a little stippling around the heart and the sentiment.

This next card uses the same stamps and same heart punches. I changed it up a bit. :)

• This is the card that came to me while I was making the Vintage card. As you can see I changed colors and change the design just a little. I have had a lot of fun making these cards. This makes the third card that I have made using the Victorian Flower Backgrounder with the heart punches and satin ribbon. Here is the first one.

Don't you just love when you can use your stamps more then just one time? I certainly do and I think that I will start challenging myself to use my stamps making more then just one look.

Okay, I have chatted lots longer then I had planned to. I sure hope that all of you had a wonderful week and have some terrific plans for this weekend. I will be doing housework, cooking , laundry and stamping when ever I can.  Smile. :)
