All Star Scrap Page

It has been a very long time since I have last put together a scrap book page. It is only the second time that I have made a page using just card-stock and stamps. At first I found it to be a challenge but once I decided what it was I wanted to do it was so easy. As you can see I kept it very simple.

Stamps: Foursquare from the Kim Hughes collection. This set is now on sale at Cornish Heritage Farms.

Card-Stock: Intense Cobalt, Blush red Dark,Frosted Yellow and White Prismatic  all from from Prism Papers.

Inks: Versafine

Embellishments: Ultrafine glitter, generated font from my computer for the banner and star buttons from Dress It Up Star buttons.

This stamp set is defiantly great for both card making as well as for scrap booking. I love the journal square that comes with this set of stamps.  The star that I used to make the background of my page and the glittered stars above the picture of Molly were all made using the star that is also included in this stamp set. I simply stamped a star onto each piece of colored card-stock, ran them through my Xyron and then put glitter on them. How is that for an easy embellishment? :) I truly enjoyed making this scrap book page. By the way, Molly is my oldest granddaughter.

It has been a very long day for me. I went out in the freezing cold  today. It was only 20 degrees. The wind was blowing quite a bit too. A definite Brr day. ;)  While out I did stop off at Stamping Memories and chatted with Bette and of course I picked up a few new things that I will tell you about at another time. Tomorrow I have an appointment and we are expected to get snow yet again. I hope it does not start until I get home.  Well I can hope anyway. :) It is 7 degrees right now. Wowzer!

A Kim Hughes Sneak Peek

Hi Ladies. I have been very busy the last few days making some cards and a scrap book page for the release of the brand new Kim Hughes stamp sets. They will be released this Tuesday January 22, 2008. The set that I used to make my Purple Ladybug  card is called Foursquare and will be sold at Cornish Heritage Farms . I can hardly wait for you to  see this set.

Stamps:Foursquare by Kim Hughes from Cornish Heritage Farms. Not yet released.

Card-Stock: White Prismatic and Classic Purple. Both from Prism Papers. Designer Paper from Daisy Bucket.

Inks: Color Box Wisteria Fluid Chalk. I used a Prism coloring pencil to color in the tiny leaves.

Embellishments: Sparkle Gems from Hero Arts and purchased at Stamping Memories and a purple organdy ribbon.

Note: The sentiment inside this card is Happy Birthday Wishes from Cornish Heritage Farms. I made this card a kickstand card sideways. :) I used a paper piercing tool to pierce the scalloped circle.

I also used this set of stamps to make a scrap-book page that I will share with you tomorrow night.

I certainly hope that all of you are not having the very frigid temps that we are having in NH. As I type this post  it is 9:45 PM and it is only 14 degrees. I'm certain that we will be down to single digits by morning.  Brr. I sure wish the 34 degree weather would come back. :) It was so much warmer. I just keep reminding myself that there is only one more week left to January and then it will be February, That month seems to always fly right by and before you know it spring is on the way. It will be very welcomed by most of us this year.

I hope that all of you had an awesome weekend. Even though I do not work outside of my home I always look forward to the weekends. I know that when I did work I *loved* the weekends. They always went by too fast though. Have a safe, warm and happy week. Smile. :)

A Cupcake Birtday Card

Today I put the finishing touches on the birthday card I made for my nephew Lars. He will be 14 years old in just a few days.  I love cupcake images and have lots of them.  I think making a birthday card using a cupcake image is suitable for both  male and female. I also think that the age does not matter. No matter the age who does not love receiving a cupcake card? :)

Stamps: Hero Arts Clear Design purchased from Stamping Memories and Fancy Flexible Phrases from Stampin'UP!

Ink: Chocolate Chip from Stampin'UP!

Card-Stock: Real Red and white. Designer paper from Making memories. All were purchased from Stamping Memories.

Embellishments: Brads, red button and Brocade Blue ribbon all from SU.  Small white tag from an Antique shop.

To make this card I used my Nestabillities that I purchased from Ellen Hutson. I paper pieced the bottom of my cupcake to match the background paper. I really love  using this technique. It's so simple to do and I think it makes an image stand out more. I used a brown Prisma coloring pencil and Gamsol to make the chocolate frosting. I could have made it a darker brown but chose not to. I used pop up dots for my squares so that it would look 3-D. And that is it. :)

As I write this post I am drinking my very last coffee. :( I am savoring every last sip of it too. I was told I had to quit drinking it. UGH! I love coffee. It is the only vice that I have. But on the brighter side I will be saving 2.48 per day by not buying a coffee. That is a grand total of  17.36 I will be saving each week.  Even better I will be saving 69.44 per month. WOW! That is a lot of money just from buying one coffee each day. I'm sure I will be just fine without coffee once it is all out of my system.  I will have to find a healthy drink to replace it with. Any suggestions? I was thinking  some type of juice. I bought some tonight. I will also start drinking lots of water too. Boring but better for me then coffee. Why is it that the things that taste so good like chocolate or coffee are not very good for us. I will be allowing myself one piece of 72% chocolate each evening! Maybe that will help to make me feel better. :)

Oh one more thing to share. Tonight I had to go out so I stopped off at Michaels. They are still having a clearance sale on the Martha Stewart Christmas products. I picked up a set of 9 acrylic stamps that were 9.99 for only 2.99. Then I noticed that  they had gotten in a pad of papers from Foo-a-La. It cost 19.99 but I used my Jo-Ann's coupon that I received in the mail today. It was a 50% coupon so I got it for 10.00.  They are awesome papers. Just thought I would share in case your looking for some new designer papers and some Martha stamps for 2.99 :)
