This is the card that I made today for the Seeing Scenes challenge.
During the month of August Wayne and I have a family BBQ at our house. We started this tradition 3 years ago. Unfortunately not everyone can come due to time or travel issues. Despite not having everyone with us we still have lots of fun. We have lots of food to eat and games to play. The kids go down to the brook and swim in the water and at then end of the evening we all get together and have our picture taken. I always enjoy this one day a year. This is my Christmas day. :)
To make this card I used A muse stamps, notecard and a Creative Candy micro dot. Can you see the little dot? I used Basic Black, Summer Sun and Certainly Celery ink by Stampin'UP! I colored in my little grill using a Prismacolor black pencil. To give my sun a little more dimension I stippled around it using the Summer Sun ink. I added the micro dot over the letter in"i" the word "cookin". Now how easy is that? Oops. almost forgot. I used a corner punch on my card so that the corners would be rounded. Having rounded corners seems to be the *in* thing to do. ;) I purchased the little BBQ grill and the sentiment from Talk, Paper Scissors in Manchester, NH.
One last thing. Every year I send out invitations for our BBQ. I'm ashamed to say that I have been buying them rather then making them. This year I just might make use this very card as my invitation. I think my family would get a kick out of it. Okay, I'm done. Ha-ha.
Have a beautiful day. Smile. :)
I think you should absolutely use this for your invite. It's so cute.

This would be a great invitation Mary. Just get an early start and you'll have them all finished by August.
Sounds like a great time!

I think your cards would be just perfect for invites. I have rounded my corners for years and the girls used to kid me about looking like a library card - now like you said " It is the in thing to do". Have a great day, Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne
