Chirp Card

Today I decided that it was time I used one of the SAB stamp sets that I have had sitting around for a couple of weeks. I kept looking at this set and found no inspiration what so ever. There were days I would hide this stamps set because I would become discouraged any time it was in view. Well, today I pulled it  out looked at it and bingo! Now this card is nothing to write home about but I was thrilled that I felt even a twinge of creativity. It is a simple card but simple has always been my style.

 

To make this card I used The very Punny stamp set and the Flannel Plaid Background stamp. I used Whisper White, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue card-stock. I used all square punches from Marvy Uchida. I stamped the image of the chirp up bird onto the Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink  and used my SU markers to color it.  I than stippled Night of Navy ink around the edges of the Whisper White square.  I than adhered all three of the squares together. After I  added a hodge ribbon holder onto the Navy ribbon I tied it around the Bashful Blue layer of card-stock  that I had stamped with the BG stamp and than adhered it to the Night of  Navy Card.  That was all there was to it.  Tomorrow I will have a card very much like this one but with a Cuttlebug background and round circles. :) All items used are from Stampin' UP! except for the punches.

My First Bella

Tonight I am posting my very fist Bella card. Her name is Imeldabella. I bought this stamp from Stamping Bella. I love this line of stamps and apparently many other women do too. Just go onto SCS and read all of the reviews about these adorable stamps. One thing to note is that they are made of rubber but to use them you place them onto an acrylic block. At first I was a bit skeptical about this. But once I received my stamp and tried it I was very happy with the results. I will be buying more of these stamps ASAP.  Okay here is my card. To make this card I used the image and the sentiment both by Stamping Bella. I used Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and Whisper White card-stock all from Stampin'UP! The background paper is from Scrapbook Walls.  I used Chocolate Chip ink to stamp my images and than colored the image using my Prisma pencils.  To finish off my card I used a ribbon that I found at Michaels. I thought it would match the color of the background paper that I used.  This was a fast, easy and fun card to make.

Coral Heart

I wanted to make a Valentines Day card and I knew just how I wanted to make it. So I took out my  Heart Roses stencil by  Dreamweaver. I stenciled in the heart with Really Red ink, the roses in Barely Banana and a little touch of Moss Green ink. When I was finished with that step I went on to the next. I used translucent embossing  paste and spread it all over the image of the stencil. This paste is also made by Dreamweaver. While my paste was  still wet I put Dazzling Diamonds all over the image.  After that I left my craft room and did some things around the house.I knew that it would take at least 45 minutes for the hearts and roses to dry. When I came back into my room I was shocked. My red heart had turned Coral! Although I liked it I did not have any ribbon to match this color. That was on Tuesday night. So after my PT appointment  n Wednesday I went to Stamping Memories. I knew that if anyone had the color coral ribbon that I needed they would. Sure enough Liz, the owner had the perfect match. Betty, one of the instructors there was very helpful. I brought my card with me and explained that the coral was suppose to be red. She was very helpful in finding the correct color ink that I would need and she was the one to find the ribbon for me. As usual, I received great service and left there feeling a lot better about my mistake.  Here is my mistake. :)

To tell you the truth I like my coral heart card. I will be trying to make one with a red heart but not for a little while. I purchased the the Dreamwaever Stencils, paste, card-stock and ribbon at Stamping Memories. The inks and Dazzling Diamonds glitter are from Stampin' UP! The sentiment is from A Muse.
