It's Wednesday and time for the Black & white challenge. Although I took a few photos in Black & white this past week I was not happy with the way that they came out. I guess I need to learn more about taking a "good" monochromatic photo. In the mean time I have taken one of my favorite photos and made it into B&W.
I wanted to make my photo look older and have more texture then the original one. Using Lightroom 3, I brought in my original photo and turned it into B&W automatically. My next step was to use the preset Night man from Totally Rad to obtain the look that I wanted. That was it,easy and fun to do. More importantly I love the look.
Here is the before and after photo for you. My favorite photo is still the original but I do like the B&W too.
I would love to know what you think. Thank so much for stopping by. Oh and Happy Thanksgiving to you. SMILE. :)

I LOVE it, Mary! It has so much depth. I think that the subject is framed perfectly. Our eyes are drawn right to the gloves!

Mary, it has been a crazy week and we are already on another B/W Wednesday, but I wanted to stop by and say that this shot is really great! You did a super job on the conversion. And I love the composition. Hope you will link up again this week! :)
