Wedensday B&W Photo On Saturday.

This week I decided to take my photo in the Black & White mode instead of in the color mode. What I learned from doing this is that I have to learn more about the lighting. Alhough my photo came out okay I was not very happy with it. So I brought it into Lightroom and played with the exposure, lighting and then added a preset to it called "Old Money". I think it came out pretty good. Here is my entry for the Wedensday Black & White weekely challenge.

 

 

 

Of course I had to take a photo of my rooster pitcher in color as well. In all honesty I do like the photo in color better. But...........I refuse to give up taking B&W photos. I love a good challenge. SMILE :)

A Black & White & A Sepia Photo

I have been editing photos in between the holidays. I love editing and spend hours on the photos that Wayne and I take. I don't think that I will ever get tired of taking one photo and editing it many ways.  Today, I am sharing one of my favorite photos that was taken on Christmas Eve. First I did it in Sepia and then decided that I wanted to be a part of the Wedensday Black and White challenge so I took the same photo and made it into B&W. I made & added word art to both of the photos. I like the way that they both came out.

Here is how I edited the photo to look B&W.

I brought it into Lightroom 3 straight out of the camera. I added the preset optimist brought my exposure down to where I wanted it. Then I added a second preset called Hero medium and played with my black slider until I was happy with the way that my photo looked. Because I have to resize my photos down to 800x600 so that I can put them on my blog they tend to look blurry. If you would like to see my photos the way that I do just double click on them.

 

Here is my Sepia photo.

Once again, I used Lightroom3 to edit my photo. I used the presets Freebird and Chocolate Rain. I used the fill light and the exposure slider until I was happy with the look. Thanks so much fro stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week. Smile. :)

A Few Christmas Photos

Wayne and I took lots of photos this Christmas season. Too many photos! So I thought I would share just a few of my favorites.

 Starlights.

 I have taken many photos of a Christmas tree but never tried taking a photo using the starlight technique. What fun I had doing this. I used my 50mm fixed lens, an apeture of f/22 my ISO was set at 160 and my exposure was set at 6.0 I love that my lights look like little stars.

 

 Next up are two photos of our families just days before Christmas.

It was wonderful to be able to spend some time with most of our children and grandchildren.

Lastly, a photo that I took of one of my favorite little Christmas decorations.
