It's been awhile since I have last posted any thing. I have a good reason this time. Last Thursday my back went out and I was in bed more then I was out of it. I was not able to sit for very long so I was not able to spend any time at my computer or create a card. Long story short, I saw my my doctor and today is the first day that I am starting to feel like my old self. But you did not come here to read about why I have not posted. You came to see a card that I made. At least I hope you did.:)
Today I made a very simple card. I never have enough get well cards on hand. For that matter I never have enough of any greeting card on hand. I need to start making a bunch of cards that I can have ready to send. I will add that to my very long list of things to do. I'm sure that all of you understand the long "to do" list. You know the one that never gets done. Ha-ha.
I made this card using one of the newest Lockhart stamps and it is called Sunflower. I purchased mine at Stamping Memories. If your not as lucky as I am to live near a store that carries the Lockhart stamps then you can go to Ellen Hutsons on-line store and purchase it. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink , the designer paper is called Snips & Snails from 3 bugs in a rug and I purchased it at Art Plus. I used prisma color pencils, nestabilities label three from Spellbinders and a blue button. The adhesive that I used is the permanent roller from UHU Glue. The White card-stock is Pure Luxury both the 80 lb and the 120 lb from Gina K. Designs. The So saffron grosgrain ribbon is from Stampin'UP! The sentiment is called Teeny Tiny Wishes and is a brand new stamp set from Stampin'UP! so there you have it..........my very simple card. I tried to color the little black eyed Susan's like the flowers I photographed last year. No such luck. And yes, they are sunflowers but I decided they would be Black eyed Susan's. :) Hope you like it.
Personal Ramblings
Our weather has been crazy thus far. It has rained 23 days in the past 31 days. It has also been in the 60's more days then not. This is so very different from our summers in NH. Usually it is dry and in the mid to high 80's this time of the year. I have heard that it is 107 degrees in many of the other states and to be honest I would not want my summer to be that hot. So I will try to be happy with our rainy summer. I miss the sun very much. I miss sitting outdoors to watch the birds or to relax and enjoy my gardens. Thankfully, my flowers and plants are still living. I also miss being able to take my daily walk or to take photos. So I am trying to remain patient for our lovely summer days to return. I am certain that many of you who visit my blog are all feeling the same way. Are any of you having warm, sunny and dry days? If so, I hope that your enjoying every minute of it that you can.
Have a wonderful rest of the week and thanks for stopping by to visit me. Smile. :)

What a beautiful card Mary. I always enjoy reading your blog. I am glad you are feeling better. Sorry about all the rain.

Hope you continue to mend and dry out! It has been cooler than normal here in lower Michigan, but the rains have subsided. The weather guy is saying that August and
September may be our "summer" this year. I LOVE this card!! That plaid paper is great and you did a fabulous job with those posies. Take care and I hope you can get outside and enjoy a walk and your garden SOON.

SO sorry you were feeling bad, Mary, but happy that you're finally "on the mend". I was feeling sorry for myself about those awful temperatures we're getting today, but then clicked onto another blog where the lady said they were going to hit 115 this weekend. Seems like there's always someone who has it worse than we do... so no more complaining... at least for today : )
