A Little Note

Tonight I had time to make a  quick and simple card.  You will notice that I did not stray too far from my usual design. I hope that you like it. :)

  

The stamp that I used is called lady Bug in Grass and it is made by Rubber Soul. I originally purchased this stamp to make a card for Earth Day. Instead I used a different image. I love this little ladybug. The sentiment is from Studio G.,an acrylic stamp that only cost one dollar and is sold  at Micahels. I used Nestabilitie Labels One for the layers. On the bottom layer I used the  Cuttltlebug Swiss Dots emboss folder. I hope that you can see it. I love that it gives some dimension to my card. The designer paper is called Grove and is from Memory Box. The card-stock is from Stampin UP!The ink that I used is Versafine  Black Onyx. The adhesive that I used is from UHU Glue.  Last but not least I added a button to match the color of the card-stock and a  sheer white ribbon with polka dots.  Oh and to color my image I used my Prism Coloring pencils and Gamsol.

Personal Ramblings

Wow! What a weekend. The Nascar race certainly brought lots of people from all over the US to our small town. I got to see the jets fly right over my home once again. I always get a thrill when I hear the sound of them approaching and watching how fast they go by me. This year there were only 2 jets instead of three. They flew lower and it seemed to me that they went faster then normal. But still it was exciting. Unfortunately it began raining about three quarters of the way into the race. So  the winner was chosen. And of course Wayne and I celebrated his birthday. He had a wonderful day despite the rain. It has been raining every single day for a very long time. It is going to continue to rain until Saturday. YUCK! 

I have not been able to walk every day due to the rain. I sure do miss my daily walks. I hope that will change soon so that I can get back out there and hit the pavement. 

The thing that I find amazing is how well my gardens are doing with all of this rain and very little sun. Last night I posted some  photos of flowers from my gardens that I took last week. If you would like to see them click here. I would have posted them on this blog but I try to keep this my craft blog. Of course as some of you know I do put up some photos of Wayne and I and I do sneak in a Smile box from time to time. :)

Free on-line Class.

I am so sorry that I am just now getting around to post this on my blog.  The last day of registration for this free on-line class is Sunday night.

This makes the third class that I have taken with Jessica and I have learned quite a bit about photoshop from her. I'm all signed up and ready to go for this class.  What have you got to lose? It's a free class.:) I know that you will not be disappointed.

 

  Using another free and very easy class from Jessica I was able to put this page together in 15 minutes. If I can do it anyone can. :)  

  

Speaking of photos I would love to share with you a link to my photo blog. Recently I took a photo that of my daughter. Using both photoshop and another program I was able to get just the right look that I wanted. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos.

Personal Ramblings

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and it was warm.  I had lots of errands to run so I was not able to just sit or walk and enjoy most of it. But it sure was nice to be able to get in and out of my car and not get wet. Today it was very hot and sunny until 2 PM. after that we had a thunderstorm and some rain but not for long so that was cool. I actually took a 2 mile hour walk tonight and I loved every second of it! It felt so wonderful to walk in the dry, warm  weather. :)

This weekend Wayne will be home for 3 days so I will not be able to get much stamping done. I'm sure that he and I will just do some work around the house and in the gardens. Sunday we will be closed in due to our road being shut down because of the Nascar race.  I have a lot of things to do so not being able to get out on Sunday is good thing. I have lots of photos to edit from our trip to Shaker Village lat weekend. I am hoping to have time to make a smile box with some of the photos to share with all of you.

Make A Wish

Today I finished my very first card using Copic markers the way that we were taught in class. I would love to tell you that my coloring came out great................but it didn't. Although I have 89 Ciao markers and 50 sketch markers between the two sets I did not have the correct colors that should have gone together. So my pink came out way too bright my little fairy has bright orange hair instead of looking like a red head and her wings look way too blue.  I made mistakes too. If you see the blue color bleeding a tad out of the wings it's because it is.  My So even though my card did not come out as well as I would have liked I wanted to share it any way. here is what I learned by making this card. First, I need to buy markers that are only about 2 colors up and down from the color that I choose. Example: The dress is colored using RV02 , RVo4 and RV 21. Instead of using the RV21 I should have used RV00. I did not have RV00 so the dress came out very bright instead of a softer pink which is what I wanted. The other thing that I learned is not to push my ink around while it is still wet. Hence the blue bleeding through the wings. At least I think that's why. Lastly, I've learned that I need to practice, practice, practice! All right then, Here is my card.

   Using Memento Black tuxedo ink I stamped the fairy image onto Luster white card-stock .The designer paper is from Scenic Route. "Make A Wish" sentiment is from Mixed messages from Papert Trey Ink. The base card-stock is from SU and is Cool Caribbean(retired).  As you you all ready know I used Copic markers to color in the image and then I added some buttons. Fini!

Personal Ramblings

Summer is here! Unfortunately it does not feel like summer here in NH. In the past 17 days we have had rain 13 of those days. The highest temperature that we have had has been in the mid 70's. Although I love it when the temperatures are in the 70's I do no appreciate it being humid due to all of the rain that we have been getting. The only change in sight is that it is going to be in the mid to high 80's for the next few days but high humidity and showers every day. UGH! I miss seeing the sun. Hopefully we will have sunny summer days by mid next week.

Last weekend was motorcycle weekend. Even though the bikers do not meet up in my town they do meet close by so we get lots of bikers driving by us all week and weekend long. It's  lots of fun seeing them drive by on their awesome bikes.  This week everyone is coming in for the Nascar race at the NH Speedway. Wayne and I live just a few miles away from the speedway so we watch all of the big trucks bring in the race cars. The trucks are huge and always quite colorful. Then on Sunday we get to see the Air Force jets fly right above us to signify the start of the race. I always get so excited when I see the jets. I'm sure that some of you think that is silly but it is quite the sound to hear and a beautiful sight to see. There are lots of helicopters flying above us through out the day and I like watching them too.  Although it is a bit noisy on Sunday I find it to be fun. Our town is a small one and it is a very quiet town. So three times a year we have some noise, lots of people from out of state visiting us and some awesome cars and bikes to look at.  It's the small things in life that make me happy. :)
