This post is about my very first time apple picking and some pictures to help show just a fraction of what Wayne and I did at the farm. If you don't have time to read about my day and look at the photos I certainly will understand. After all You probably came to see a card about apples.:) I do have s project to share with you and will as soon as I put the finishing touches on it. I am also working on a card and will post that very soon too.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day. The sun was shinning very bright, the temperature was in the high 60's and the sky was a beautiful bright blue. A great day to be outdoors. So off to Meadow Ledge farms we went so that I could pick my very first apple.
The first thing I thought when I walked into the apple orchard was Wow! I had never seen so many apples in my life. There were some trees that had so many apples on them it was difficult to see the leaves. Here I am picking a Macintosh apple.
Wayne is examining the apples before he puts them into his basket. I took a picture of him also eating one of the apples but decided not to post it because it was not a very flattering shot of him. :)
Yes, I took photos of apples. :)
The farm that we went to also has peaches, pumpkins and blueberries. I'm sure they grow other produce but I have not purchased any thing else there yet.
I not only took pictures of apples and of Wayne but I also took pictures of pumpkins, a photo of Wayne sitting on an antique tractor and a dragonfly. But I will spare you all of those photos. :) Here is one last one that I would like to share with you that Wayne took of me.
Neat shot huh? Wayne did cheat a little by using photoshop to put some pumpkins in the back of me. I have got to learn how to use that program.
Anyway, I had a great day. Now all I need to do is find a really good and easy apple pie recipe and then I am all set to make my very first apple pie.
Today, Wayne and I took a 3 mile walk. It was in the low 70'sand cloudy. A perfect time to go for a walk. My favorite season is here an I am trying to take advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. Once the winter comes I will be stuck indoors a lot. If your able to I hope that you will go out and enjoy the beauty of this wonderful season. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at what I did this weekend. I hope that your weekend was awesome. Smile. :)

Hi Mary,
I went apple picking today also. It was about 78 degrees here today. Started off cool then warmed up. Great photos - I should have taken a shot of just the trees - beautiful. I'll have to ask Chuck what recipe he uses for apple pie. I know he used to use the one from Betty Crocker cookbook but let me double check with the chef tomorrow. Of course we picked way too many but the neighbors always enjoy some and my friend. Isn't it fun to go apple picking? :)
