I could not resist putting that as my title for this post. Recently I found out that Making Memories is now selling a new paper distress tool. I have an edge distress tool made by Heidi Swapp. I have used it on my scrapbooking pages and will have to try using it on my cards. I love new tools of any kind so I had to order it and try it out. I tried it and I like it. I decided to do a test with it and the Edge distress tool to see if one is better than the other. I will write more about what I found but here is a picture that I took of both of these neat little tools.
They are both cute looking aren't they? Okay but cute isn't what you want when you want a job done. I used a piece of Stamping'UP! card-stock to try out both of these distressing tools. The side of the paper closest to the tool shows the the result of what they did. In all honesty The Making Memories edge scraper did the job faster. I could have gotten the same results with the Heidi Swapp edge distresser if I had continued to use it on the paper. My little experiment was to find out which one was better and could do the job faster. I paid 3.29 for the Making Memories edge scraper plus shipping and handling. I purchased it at AddictedtoRubberStamps I can not find it in any of the stores where I live. The Heidi Swapp edge distresser costs 99 cents and I found it at A.C Moore in Manchester,NH. If you want to run the edge distresser up and own your paper longer than go with the one made by Heidi Swapp. But if you want your edges to look distressed faster than go with the one made by Making Memories. As for me, I will use both until the blades are no longer working. After that I will be buying the Making memories Edge scraper. I like how it feels in my hand as well as not having to use it as often to get the look that I want. I just hope that one of the stores that I frequent will have this in stock soon. Have a great day and Smile. :)
