Hello Ladies. I hope that all of you are doing well and staying warm. I've not been posting much due to my trying to catch up with all I have to do for Christmas.  This certainly has been a very busy time for me. Especially since Christmas seems to be  coming very fast this year. Well, that will teach me for not making more time back in September to start my shopping.:)

Anyway, I am still working on 2  digital scrapbooks  and one paper scrapbook  that  I want to give as gifts. I hope that I can get them all done in time.

Here is a page that I made for Wayne's book and also for the Divine Design monthly challenge. Hope you like it.

 

To make this page I used green paper for my background. I used a flourish brush and stamped the flourish randomly on my background using the colors from the yellow leaves and a darker green that I thought looked well with the lighter green paper. I used a frame, added my bible verse and then added some text. Easy? You bet.  have I told you how much I love using brushes and stamps on my pages? Well, I *love* it. I love that I am able to make my own backgrounds by stamping randomly and I love using them on my photos.  :)

Today, I received a big box from Stampin'UP!I purchased a few of the brand new items that will be available to everyone on Jan. 5, 2010 in the Occasions mini catalog. I hope to be making some new cards using the items that I purchased so that I can give you a few sneak peaks. I will say for now that this is the best mini catalog I have seen Stampin' UP! come out with in a very long time.  Did you hear that SU will be offering not only the wood stamps but also the clear-mounted? I am so excited. Of course I had to order the clear mount stamps. Awesome!!! More on this as time goes by. Also Sale-A-Bration will start on January 5,2010. Yay!

Here are a few photos I took of  Wayne snow blowing today. We got hit with snow, high winds and soon it is going to turn to ice. UGH!  No escaping it now.....winter is here.

Wayne is using his brand new snow blower and it seems to be working out great. Here he is clearing a path to one of our bird feeders out back.

It was a tad difficult to get these photos because the wind was very strong and it was still snowing. My camera is not waterproof so I had to take the pictures quick. It was 32 degrees but with the wind blowing I'm sure it caused the temps to feel as though it was in the 20's.

Christmas Gift Card Holders.

Hi Ladies. It has been a very crazy and busy week for me which is why I only posted once this past week. Today I made sure I cut out some time in my busy schedule to make tags for some of my gifts and gift  card holders for all of the cards that I will be giving this Christmas. So here are three gift card holders that I would like to share with you.

To make this gift card holder most of the products that I have used are from Stampin'UP! The actual gift card holder was created by using a die. I used a stamp from Christmas Punch a level two hostess stamp set , an oval  scalloped punch, Old Olive ink, Dazzling diamonds, Very Vanilla  and Chocolate Chip card-stock. Also used was an Old Olive ribbon and the eyelet border punch from Stampin'UP.

Here is what the inside of the gift card holder looks like.

This is the second gift card holder that I made.

This one was made the same way that the fist one was by using a die. This time I used the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper #116770 located in the  Holiday mini catalog. I used the Christmas Punch Level two hostess stamp set, Whisper White and and real Red card-stock. I used the SU Scallop edge punch and Real Red and Whisper White grosgrain ribbon. On the Real Red scallop border I used Frost White Shimmer paint # 116854 located in the Holiday Mini catalog and only available until January 4, 2010. I have all 3 of the shimmer paints and I do not have a favorite. I love them all. So much so that I have  ordered more of them.:)

Here is the last one that I have to share with you . Because I also give gift cards to a few of the men in my family I made one that I felt would be a little more masculine looking.

To make this card I used the Delightful decorations stamp set #116517 and the Ornament punch # 116794 both  available until Jan. 4, 2010. I used Merry Moments designer paper Real Red ink and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. The inside of this card looks exactly like the first one that I made except that the inside paper coordinates with the outside paper. I hope that made sense. :)

Personal Ramblings

I know that I say and I write this a lot but I have been sooooo busy. Every day just flies right by me. But at this time of the year I feel like I am caught in a whirlwind and that I can not slow down. Aside from all of the things that I do on a daily basis I find myself out and about even more due to the Christmas  shopping that I need to do for my family. Shopping this time of the year is crazy as all of you know. Even with the economy being the way that it is I still find that the stores are still very busy and that the lines at the check out counters are still long.  I come home and I have phone calls to return, dinner to make, more cleaning and then it's time for me to wrap some gifts. On and on it goes. I know that many of you can relate to this.  OY! I feel so exhausted most of the time. :)

I have been walking only 2 times a week for the past couple of weeks. I have been so busy running around that I by the time I get home it is dark and I do not walk in the dark. The last day that I walked this week was wonderful. We had a day that was 65degrees with a slight breeze. The air was warm and felt so good. I was shocked that we had such a gorgeous day in the first week of December. I enjoyed every minute of that walk!  Today is our first snow day and feels more like a December day here in NH. It began snowing at 2 PM and it is still snowing. However, because the ground was warm it took many hours before the snow began to accumulate.The last time I looked outside it looked as though we got about 2 inches of snow.  If it stops soon then it  just might melt away by Sunday afternoon.  But like it or not I do believe that winter is finally here for us. I will still walk when ever I can though.:)  I will be taking photos and sharing them with you as soon as we get our first snow storm.  Are all of you finished with your Christmas shopping? I think I am but I still have 3 scrapbooks to finish and hope to be done with them within the next week.  I will be sharing some more digital pages as soon as I can. Also I will be doing some sneak peeks for the new Stampin'UP! mini catalog that will be available to everyone on Jan. 5, 2010. I should have my order in next week.  I am quite excited with the new mini and I have a feeling that many of you will be too. 

Well, I am off to do some more wrapping, some scrap-booking and then I am off to bed. I hope that all of you have been feeling great and having lots of fun. Make sure you set aside some fun time each day or night  just for yourself. Smile. :)  

 

A Christmas Jingle Digital and a Christmas Jingle Hybrid Card

Hi Ladies. Last night I used My Digital Studio to make a Christmas card for the Keep It Simple challenge over at Pals Paper Arts. As all of you know by now I *love* keeping every thing simple. It's not only my style but it's also  the way that I live my life now that I'm older and wiser. :) I've always been a type A person. Can any of you relate to being a Type A person? If so then you know how hard life can be,  how complicated it can be and how hard it is to slow down. Not the best way to live a good healthy life. However, I think it's very difficult to stop being a type A person. Wow! I certainly went off on a tangent. Ha-ha. My point is.......the more simple life is for me the better off I am and feel.

I know that you have read this many times on my blog but I *love*the MDS program. It is easy to learn, and making projects are so simple. Even if your design is more ornate it is still very simple to make.  So this has been an awesome program for me to buy and use. 

Here is My Simple Christmas Card.

I used Christmas Jingle embellishment of the reindeer on the round punched out circles. The Merry Christmas stamp is also from the  Christmas Jingle set. I used a White grosgrain ribbon and a white grosgrain bow. I used the  Modern Day punch and Olive green card-stock all from My Digital Studio#118108.

Here is my Hybrid card.

 Every thing is the same except that I used Whisper White card-stock and a white button from Button Latte. Both of these items were not used from the MDS, although they are available in the MDS program. So there you have it! Two very simple Christmas cards. One completely done using a program and the other using the MDS and other products from Stampin'UP! Mass producing either of these cards would be so fast and easy to do. Personal Ramblings

Wayne and I did not get our Christmas tree up last night because the lights were not working and there was no way to fix them. So today, I went to the store and bought another new pre-lit Christmas tree. Wayne will be putting it up tonight. Yay!!!! In the mean time I have been wrapping some gifts and writing out a few Christmas cards. Only 25 more days to go. Yikes!!! I still have so much to do yet.

Yesterday, was in the high 40's, sunny and there was no wind blowing. It was such a gorgeous day and  a great day to take a walk. I ended up walking 4miles. It was just too wonderful to be indoors. I hope that we will have a few days in December that are warm enough for me to walk. If not, I will try bundling up and see how that goes. :)

I forgot to share with all of you a photo that I took 2 days before Thanksgiving day. Wayne was looking out or sliders and he told me to hurry over and look at the wild turkeys walking through our property. I did but I grabbed my camera fast and ran outdoors to try and get a photo of them.I did but not a very good one. Who knew that Wild Turkeys could  run??? I sure didn't. Ha-ha. Anyway here is a picture of a few of the Wild Turkeys. The rest of them headed for the woods fast!

 
Not a great photo but I was a good distance from them. They really were huge! I wish you could have seen what I did.

Well, I am off to go and wrap up some more Christmas gifts. I hope that all of you have a good week. Mine will be very busy but that's cool. It keeps me out of trouble. Smile.  :)
